I started playing with the Arno 3 update, and it's even better. It's made me (as a predominantly solo gamer) go from 'meh, I feel I may have wasted my money' to 'omg, this game is great." So thanks to both you and the Brother Murph for introducing me to this variant! Hopefully, any future releases will make this the default, as the base solo game is a little underwhelming.

I'm always with you till the end. Duh! ;) Glad to see you back. It seems like a while since you last posted a video. Hope you're doing great man. Btw, this video came out at a perfect time for me since I was about to try the Arno or Hanna variants. I've already played the solo mode of Ark Nova, but I feel like the 27 rounds was limiting. Especially the last round where you only have 2 turns to act before the end game. Also, no being able to gain X for break is painful as I find the X tokens to be very powerful especially by the end of the game. Thanks for the video. It was great to watch

sooooooooo many people posted about Ark Nova today (25th), my group played it 3 player as well. such an awesome game. that arno variant is pretty cool, I might have to try it. Though I still haven't played it solo with the official rules yet. awesome playthrough, looking forward to more. congratz on the win.

You've got it! I like that it replicates the multi-player and you can't count the number of rounds remaining.

Thanks for this. I was eyeballing the solo RAW rules, and wasn't overly excited about trying them out. Might give ARNO a spin, once This War of Mine is off my gaming table. EDIT: Hmm... the handy rules cards you're using are not a part of the PDF at the link you shared, from that I can see. That is unfortunate. EDIT 2: Nevermind. You need to open a drop-down and there they are.

This is a great playthrough for learning the rules while also seeing the flow of gameplay. Well done! I think when you took that 1st Archeologist bonus, an extra worker would have been better. You could have immediately used it to take an Association action, and then your next round would also have been more productive. Getting those workers out early is so powerful!

Thanks Paul! I think the solo mode included is fine but it's essentially a beast your own score game so I don't love those types of solo games. This variant I like a lot more

Did they change the rules for ARNO? The copy of the rules I'm looking at says it always picks the Association Worker at 2 Conservation...

@@OneStopCoopShop Not sure, just checked and the version on BGG and that I printed mentions that specifically under Page 2, Random Selection. RANDOM SELECTION: Sometimes ARNO’s choices are determined by rolling a die with equal possibilities for all possible options/results:
If ARNO receives an undetermined bonus, for example by advancing on the Conservation track, it will be randomly determined among all possible bonuses.
However, once ARNO reaches 2 conservation points, he always chooses to take an additional association worker Either way, awesome play! You made things harder on yourself with the extra upgrade ARNO got but still kicked his butt :)

Can arno put his Worker on conservation project which i have player and its already ob the board? I think yes right? So i would roll for example for his cards on hand then on base projects and for project which is kb the board by me? Or im ignoring this and Heš always playing cards either from hand or basic projects thanks

Good question! Sometimes you want to do a different action than what is in slot 5. Otherwise the game would play itself
