Pvp fucks you cuz u can dmg the drop ( with capped dmg and hp carchas you will usually deal 90% of the dmg yourself if you dont hop off and shotgun or use a tek forcefield

Corrupted Wyverns have never been scarier than in Ascended. May definitely try the reaper method once I'm able to tame some. Also, the Kingslaying Trait has been updated to dealing extra damage to corrupted, as well as alphas/bosses. Slap a couple of those on your Gigas/Carchas and you'll be sweet.

Hasmat will prevent the wyverns from burning you off your tames. We had that issue with red and purple drops on our official server till we found out haz stops it they easy now

The milk wasn't working when I tested. But Hazmat prevented 100% of the in-direct Wyvern fire. Directed fire as when the Wyvern is breathing on you directly damages the Hazmat severely. +50% durability loss per breath on primitive Hazmat. On difficulty 5 a level 135 corrupt Fire Wyvern still did around 300 damage to my player in primitive with the direct attack.

If you don't want to tame a reaper army on pve or single player (has to be on pve) (you don't do dmg to the OSD/Vein in pve, as I experienced), you can just use a Dinoleash (the level 22 extinction item), put it near the osd, put like 15 good Gigas/Charchas/Dreadnoughtuses inside the circle of the Dinoleash, put them on aggressive and wandering and they will do the job. edit: i am shure Rexes/Spinos/Allos will do the job for the blue OSDs.

@@acidreins purples on ASA are WAYYYY harder, tried with 3 people on carchs and we didnt even live for a min when it started. ASE I used to do them with 2 people on carchs

@acidreins The Dreadnoughtus does also knockback attacks and they are much stronger then a reaper, but yeah when you haven‘t the resources for some good and imprinted Dreadnoughtuses, then some good and imprinted reapers would help too.

Carchar are a bit better for longevity once they are stacked. The heal makes them great and better manuverability

Box the osd with behemoth gates and build a tek barrier inside . After 5 minutes the schield is up and the osd is protected . The only things that can get past the shield sometimes are Rock drakes .

During the days of ASE, I would just have 20 gigas following a fire wyvern. Since Fire Wyverns were immune to the fire of the corrupted, I would just sit back and relax while the gigas did the job.

It works with reapers only because despite being buried their collision hitbix is still above so it keeps dinos of most sizes out. Purlovia too small/short, basilisks MIGHT work but they take forever to raise and are a pain to tame.

The fire extinguisher grenade exists... Puts out the fire and even prevents wyverns from breathing more fire for the "short" duration.

I did a beta osd with one mutated pyro. Imprinted and leveled to 20k hp and 1.3k md. Osd got a bit over half life left when I finished the last wave. I also tested the pyro against the wyvern and I was immun to the breath.

one strat I don't see is using a force field fire does breathe through but does help slow the horde and give time to heal in-between rounds

I'm soloing purple OSD's on SP with pyromanes. I set up 4 groups with 6 pyros in each group. AI attack enabled and I ride another pyro. They wipe each corrupted round out pretty fast, but it still takes a while to get thru 8 rounds due to 1 or 2 corrupted going MIA each round 😡

Just to add, that I've not been burnt off the saddle once, so either the wyverns are dying so fast or is it possible to be immune to fire breath whilst riding a pyro? I'll go test it..

Im using the Rider Defence Mod from Gaia Studios that prevents the rider from getting damaged when riding a tame. But this Method is also pretty good

Velos used to ground flyers and wyvern on ase. Some bred velos with good saddles should help massively. Wyvern don't use special when grounded

Speaking strictly to the purple OSDs, the hazmat does not stop the fire damage. Found that out the hard way yesterday lol

@roscomurrell yeah I tested and had good results on the normal level corrupted wyvern up north. Then the purple OSD spawned a 476 wyvern and while I think the hazmat TRIED to stop it, it was instantly eviscerated and so was I lol

Sadly there is no wyvern milk on official since transfers. Im trying to get a method down as a solo player on official. You can use haz suits to protect against fire damage but once it breaks your dead instantly.

@ yes it is. That’s the way it’s intended to work buddy. The milk stops the tick damage but doesn’t stop the actual fire damage when it hits you which does anywhere from like 100-250 damage. So with enough health you could survive 1-3 breaths.

I heard the hazard suit makes you immune at least; I'd imagine a bunch of mate-boosted carchas + hazard suit would be the way to go Also: are buried reapers immune to meteors? Ex. if you set them up in advance and a meteor hits, are you gonna lose a bunch of Reapers?

Just use Hazard gear against the wyverns. The gear gets damaged but you dont die to burn.😉

I kinda switch between pve and pvp settings whenever i want to do some osds, because in PVE corrupted creatures cannot damage metal. So i like to just surround the drop in gateways and gates, and then i just sit on a carch, picking off all the dinos. Its so stupidly easy, really 😂 all the dinos gather at the drop but cant damage it, and i just finish them off from behind! Well, not that way...xd As i said though, only works in PVE!!!

Take 4 charcaradons. Easy peasy. Your loot doesn't improve beyond wave 10-15 I believe with Purple. Why don't we talk about vanishing NPC corrupted creatures and how completing the OSD can be nearly impossible when the creatures spawn in side the rocks and you have to abandon the whole mission... Happens all the time.

Might be a dumb question, but how do you make the drops last 100 rounds? Most of mine stop at round 5-8.

Gamma(blue), Beta(Yellow) and Alpha(Red) OSD have only 6 waves. 0 through 5. Same for the Element Nodes. The Legendary(purple) Orbital Supply Drops last until you quit but require you to complete a minimal number like 15 rounds before you can opt to eject items. There are no legendary element nodes.

Carchas are much better for OSD's than gigas. they do more damage once they get their stacks (not hard to do in OSDs) they heal rapidly with stacks and can cover more ground and they have their tail spin to give themselves space or to avoid getting swarmed. the biggest problems with gigas is their stam and their lack of recovery. once you get into the higher waves the corrupted creatures can easily chunk down gigas or cause them to rage. once a giga gets low you need to swap to another or try healing it with a pig or owl. all of which can leave you open and vulnerable. gigas still work well against OSD's but carchas are by far superior.
