would really like a ark that does not exxagerate too much on sizes because creatures as big as represented in ark shouldn't have like 300 hp while being 7x the size of the player. Keep some size to allow some creatures to be saddled tho

There was the Realism Mod for ASE that scaled back the size of several creatures to a more accurate size. It was cool, but damn if it didn't make it difficult to get started.

In real life, Giganotosaurus would be 5.5 meters (18 feet) tall and 12.5 meters (41 feet) long, so you got it a bit oversized in the numbers. But the model is still to big.

Part of me feels like wildcard intentionally made many of the creatures larger to help with perspective. First person perspective in video games can be difficult to get right In terms of the sizes of objects and creatures. For example, when you play in third person, you can see your player in realtion to the sizes of the creatures, but the first person perspective makes the creatures look smaller. Also I think the Meg should have been bigger, they seriously took a massive marine apex predator and chose the smallest recorded size. Also I'm glad the cnidaria aren't the largest sizes jelly fish can be, the modern day lions mane and phantom jelly fish are massive.

The ark Tapejara looks so big because it's not a Tapejara. It's a Tupandactylus. When ark made the Tapejara, Tupa and Tape were considered the same species, which is no longer the case.

I’ll fact check! 1: allosaurus. The largest allosaurus fragile specimen was 32ft long not 30ft 2: the largest specimen was 33ft long and over 2.5m tall not 30ft or about 4 times the size of the one shown in the video 3: argentavis. The argentavis shown as the ‘ark’ one is about twice the size of the actual ark one which is on the right. It was actually only 5ft tall 4: basilosaurus. It was 56ft, no where near 70ft Also I don’t know why but many of the ark creatures have been massively sized up with the ‘real’ creature being the actual ark one. 5: brontosaurus. It was 66ft not 70ft but that’s within individual variation ranges. 6: dunkleosteus. Most recent estimates put it at only 4.1 metres but that is relatively recent information 7: gallimimus. Gallimimus is actually perfect size wise. The real version he showed is not. 8: giganotosaurus. It was 45ft long and 12ft tall not 20ft tall.

That’s because the pterosaur used for the model used to be called Tapejara, but after research was done on it , it turned out to be a different animal all together; & was renamed Tupandactylus. The rename was done after the Tapejara was in the game so yeah.

Woolly mammoths (Mammothus primigenius) were only around 11ft tall. Other species like the Imperial Mammoth (Mammothus imperator) and the Colombian Mammoth (Mammothus columbi) were both much larger at around 13-14 feet tall, although they were not nearly as woolly as their more iconic relatives. The giant elephant Palaeoloxodon namadicus was even larger at over 16 feet.

That's not true, you're likely getting that metric from the 2007 François Therrien and Donald Henderson estimate (which has been criticized in its validity) that states a range of up to 47ft. About 15m is the generally accepted estimate.
