Ark Survival Ascended Mod Showcase: Runic Wyverns

Hello everyone! I wanted to make a short showcase for my #arksurvivalascended mod, Runic Wyverns! They have a lot of QoL changes from the vanilla Wyverns & I just released a major update, so I figured it was a good time to show it off!
-Diving
-Better Maneuverability
-Augmented Elemental Attacks
-Hand-painted rune-esque emissive designs
-Modest particle effects to add just a little flavor
There will be at least 2 more Wyvern & more features coming in the future, so if you don't try it now, feel free to come back later & check to see what's changed & been added!

Do you think you could do a video on their spawn locations? we're loving th erunic fire wyverns on our server running The Center but cannot for the life of us find the other 3.

Love this mod! The effects are incredible and the wyverns are powerful Are there any plans to add an option to increase.spawn rate implamented cuz i am having a bit of a difficult time finding them on me and my friends ps5 server even after a wild dino wipe Keep up the good work!

After looking into it a TON, there's really no easy way to do it. It would involve overriding the C++ code that we don't have access to atm (or possibly ever) & I wouldn't even know where to begin doing that- It's a complex process that's not documented anywhere that I can find unfortunately. (I even looked at old open-source mods that I KNOW had settings for that, but couldn't get the info/BPs to import properly from UE4->UE5) Right now, killing dinos in the respective areas where the Wyverns you want spawn, to reduce the dino population, is probably your best bet after a wild wipe to get some to spawn. Which map & which Wyvern are a spawning concern? I can see if I have other reports that match up & maybe increase the rate or ratio a bit :)

Ah we are running scorched earth. Looking for lightnings and fire wyverns and we cant seen to find them in the badlands or the dunes like the mod description says

Update We were able to find flame wyverns but spark wyverns are a no show. Even so the flame wyvern design is absolutely *gorgeous*

So beautiful! Do you think about bring others Version of "Phoenix" to the game? Like the mythological Birds, "Thunderbird" and "Psônen", they can be like phoenix but with electric/ice powers instead fire powers.

Thank you! And I've thought about it yes! :) I'd have to find some hard drive space somewhere though if I want to do that, so it's probably a VERY far off in the future thing lol

I have some farther off into the future plans to do this, yes! Right now I'm facing the challenge of hard drive space & time to work on it lol It's planned, & I've started some of the ground work, but I don't think real work on it will *begin* until next fall at the earliest- more than likely longer with the holiday season coming up.

Yes, I was indeed planning to add those down the road! In regards to the Crystal, I'd like to add them as Runic Crystal variants! Runic Ruby, Runic Sapphire, etc, with better 'glass' effects to make the gemstones shimmer. The issue atm is their attacks are a bit broken right now, as is their materials, so there's a LOT to fix/replace first, which will take quite a bit of time. In regards to the Tek Wyvern, I am waiting for them to add the model back- it's currently missing from ASA's dev kit & I don't have room on my hard drive to install the ASE dev kit. How does one go about taming one of these i tried with Argy but it so fast i just die 😅 any tips would be appreciated

So the next update will change their AI a bit so that they have a higher chance to land, & slow them down a bit during a chase- that way you won't have to drag them down into a trap or anything like that! Until then, luring them into a close by trap to knock out is probably a good bet, especially for high level ones!

They eat the same items as TRex for taming :) Raw Prime Meat or Exceptional Kibble!

@@amber7058 So The Center is MASSIVE & a lot of people, especially on console, report that they spawn very sparsely. If you go to the mod page, there is a discord I created for the mod & people have been sharing their spawn settings if you have the option to change the game.ini config file!

What trap do u use cause I used regular dino gates and they didnt fit?

So you could lure them into an area with one gate & one open wall & place the gate once they get in- or you can use Behemoth gates

I'm not exactly sure what you mean- they act like normal dinos :) They are breedable & mutations can appear just like regular dinos!

@@shortstackwa7995 Unfortunately they’re color locked due to the way that the regions on the Wyvern colormask works, BUT, I’m currently working on skins for them that will give them more unique looks, including changing the color of their markings :)

I had another person who had some issues with this- are you copy pasting them exactly as is? With any quotations it needs? Where a spawn wyvern runic wivern ? I don’t find a venom wyvern and ice wyvern. I ‘am french

It depends on the map, but usually Venom spawn near swamps & Glacial will spawn in mountains & snow plains! If you're having trouble finding them, try a wilddinowipe & fly around a little bit! You may need to stay in an area for a few minutes to get spawns to happen

@@NyghtWolf the map where I'm trying to get them is scorched earth, the lightning wyverns are near the mountains and there's flame in the desert but the poison and ice one is impossible to find, although I've done some map tours . Thank you for the answer

They may take a while to spawn if you didn't do a wild dino wipe. I'd suggest trying that first & roaming around, especially if it's in Single player. The game will only load the 'regions' near the player without using the -PreventHibernation launch line in steam. They are set to be a bit more on the rare side as a precaution to prevent over spawning on servers where those regions are always loaded :)

Hi so im in ark ascended and we have to craft a thing called the runic wyvern armed chip me and my friends dont now how to put it on our wyverns though so we were wondering if u have the answer??

It should be usable in the saddle slot! If it's not, then the most recent update may have changed something with the Wyverns & I may need to update it. Thank you for letting me know, I'll have a look right now! :) Edit: I just checked, it works fine in my game!

Heya! Depending on the map, they'll be in different places. The spawn locations for The Island & Scorched Earth are at the bottom of the mod description :) General rule of thumb is: Flame & Ice around mountains & ice (where Rex would spawn), Venom in swamps, & Spark around Plains.
