Yo Bey, just a heads up. Pipes are no longer needed, you place an intake in the water and it gives you a radius, then place a water tank inside the radius and this too gives a radius, using this you can place 3 or 4 tanks and have water transported anywhere, taps work if inside the radius without pipes. Electricity is the same

I just built where my ASE base is. I almost didn't recognize it besides the redwood tunnel. It only started to look like ASE when I cleared the resource. The dense foliage alone really changes things.

I would base it on whether or not you plan on taming a lot of water creatures because #18 you can't really use that base for any water tames as there's no cryos right now :(...I love how close #18i s to rare resources and Carno Island though, ofcourse you could just set up a water pen away from base anyway!

#9 and #10 were some of my first bases in Ark! Can’t wait to go back. We built a house on the rock you can see at 5:16 and made a series of gates to turn the whole cove into a big water pen.. Good times man.

Hey! It could definitely be much bigger, I just did a rough rectangle and in that case the foundations were too high on one side to keep building out but I hadn't lowered the foundation at all so could definitely get bigger if lowering the foundations on the flatter areas to be able to snap more foundations where the ground begins to slope down :)@@KaFullah

Sadly not, I couldn't believe it to be honest, no idea why they decided to put those on the ground! I usually just have to build ceilings over it when I built there, bit of a pain really but I do still love the location!

Mine's nothing special mate, I'm currently running this on low to medium settings because my PC sounds like it's going to blow up when I try high or epic settings haha! The Unreal engine must still make it look half decent because If I played ASE on these settings it would look ass :D

Unfortunately not, it's crazy we are not able to use cryopods! I have noticed they have made some of the cave entrances wider, for example hard snow cave had a tiny gap for an entrance before where I don't think even a Direwolf could fit through, you can probably fit a Theri or something through that now! Going to take us abit of adjusting playing without cryos i'm sure XD

Now that it’s harder to raid maybe my base won’t get wiped every damn weekend 💀 I’d like to have a pvp base that lasts longer than 2 weeks 💀😭 altho I would’ve appreciated a option to have it for PVE I’d like cryos in my single player world once it comes to console but I like they got rid of it for pvp. Plus we got mods now so surely someone will make a cryo mod or a soul ball mod like on pc ther will prolly be some unofficial pvp servers using them too so there’s that to think ab if you just rlly want the cryos back for pvp 🤷🏼‍♂️ just gotta find the right server

@@BEYPlaysGames yeah I felt like cryos were just OP I mean the cool down timer was long so you couldn’t spam it but if you got a whole buffed up stego line and 3+ ppl you don’t need to spam. And the fact that they’re changing crouch caves and stuff to compensate for the changes rlly helps balance the game better than it ever was imo. Bc the only counter to crouch caves that Ik of is cryos so obviously if you get rid of one gotta get rid of the other 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@BEYPlaysGames sadly the game is so poorly optimised that at 1080p max settings not even a 4080 can run it at 60fps... You will need to use upscaling and a mix of high and medium for best settings on any GPU

As I started I've build just a few steps away from the second spot but I need waaay more space now for a huge building and space for my 187 dinos + I hate this fu swamps. I will definitley have to check some of the base spots out. I know this video is pretty old but do you maby remember which one of them has the biggest building area? as flat as possible.

1, 6 and 19 are the the largest :) 19 apparently can't be build at on official servers though, it worked for me on an unofficial server and is honestly my favourite spot due to the flatness and location of it!

Sadly some of these locations are not ideal on official PVE servers, since there is no longer offline damage prevention like ASE, so unless you ruin the appearance of the location with behemoth gates or pray that a titan doesn't spawn inside your fence, you can be raided / wiped by other players looking to cause grief. If they removed titans or gave us back odp like ASE had, then yes lots of these locations would make wonderful PvE bases~

Noone shows the top of the redwoods mountain love! Theres easy to control choke points, metal, crystal, and obsidian nodes! Nothin much worse than an argie or some raptos usually spawn as well

@@inugamiguru3874 creature ai? I press x to doubt. they only updated the ai pathfinding. which was needed because it is a new terrain type (wouldn't want them to try and pathfind through objects that weren't there before). But it is not like their actual behaviour (the ai) has changed.

@@BEYPlaysGames Seems volumetric clouds are bugged atm, they glitch and cause framedrops. A future patch might fix this. Can't really agree with you saying the lighting and shadows are bad though. If you run them at 'High' or above everything looks great. With clouds still enabled you sometimes get awesome lightray effects through the trees in the mist. With some more optimisation it will truly be a next gen game imo.
