I was blind, but now I see! Thank you so much for your content, it is the *first* source of information I've found that is new user friendly and comprehensive. The Discord has some helpful people on there but I find the overall vibe there to be uncomfortably lukewarm at best. There are a lot of basics that aren't exactly intuitive, (the imbueing station for example, you are told what it is but not how it works and what items work/do not work with it) and not many seasoned players are receptive to this. There are a dozen questions I had similar to this that were only answered with a, "I never thought it was that complicated." when asked.

@@Mazhron Actually if you don't mind, what difficulty setting do you recommend for the mod? I've been using the default but level 30 cap feels...wrong somehow. Also I know adjusting settings like breeding rates etc. increases boss difficulty but are there any qol adjustments that you personally feel are worth it?

So, our server has max levels for players set to 150. Dinos are harder to know as I see "max level" dinos anywhere from 142-178, this can also be due to miracles changing the max level and other aspects of the mod as well. As for breeding, Hexen has changed the numbers a few times but our server has done two different breeding settings so far. We've done 1 and 3... 1 is "Same Group, but any Tier. Incoming Damage x1, Outgoing Damage x1." and 3 is "Any Variant, Any Tier. Incoming Damage x1.5, Outgoing Damage x1.5". If you're JUST starting out, I promise, 3 will be a TON easier. Even though that boss damage feels like a big difference when you read it, it's not that bad. But you'll bee able to breed what you want when you want which is going to make the game a lot easier to learn and get what you need/want to progress. I highly suggest not dropping your inventory on death, you're going to die a lot. As for mods, get some awesome teleporters, awesome spyglass, and S+ stuff for sure. If you want to make the game even easier, any type of mutation mod to help you mutate your dinos would be useful but not required. Soul terminals/balls/guns are basically required or you'll be in lag hell. That's all I can really think of off the top of my head. You could always check out the mod list from Chaos Gaming and go from there. Or just join up in the server and start there. We have a GREAT community, good, knowledgeable and helpful people as well.

This is less of a "beginners" guide and more of an Omega mod guide. Which is fine, you did a good job explaining the mod. Though it is misleading to title this video "Omega Beginners Guide" and then explain features of completely separate mods (awesome spyglass and creature finder deluxe). It would be best to eliminate confusion by stating that right off the bat. Great mods by the way, adds that QoL to this mod. This is a beginners guide, which should be an introduction of goals for beginners. You offered no goals, no tips to achieve those goals, and no explanation as to why it is important to successfully complete those goals. Getting a starter set is extremely important, a goal players should take priority before level 20. Getting a tame to help gather resources for the set pieces is another goal. The guide on each step for these two goals would have been better as a beginners guide.

Right off the rip you explained the dino but not how you can tell why. As a guide that is extremely important, and ever more so as something titled Beginners Guide. If you are going to title it as Beginners, treat it like a your guiding a noob who's never heard of the mods before. Aside from that this guide was still decent at explaining the mod.

Hey Matias, so the Dein bleed WAS completely OP. So OP in fact, they nerfed it in 3 different ways. Now, that's not to say it's not viable (I have a video up for that as well). The difference being you can no longer reply only on the bleed, they need to be mate boosted, you need to use Uncontrollable, etc. What I've found out in my adventures that most dinos actually work if you just put in enough Paragons, but uncontrollable seems to be the best if you want to use really weak dinos such as Jerboa. I planned on making a video on some of the differences as well. Thanks for watching!

The Deino I'm using is a Paragon Deino. They're great tanks, they allow you to get up close and personal with bosses and gods so you can curse them, but they aren't great damage dealers. Definitely get one to ride on for boss fights, but don't expect them to push you forward in progress alone without a good team behind them.

@Bella Warduen I believe you do so by killing an Elemental God. I did it so long ago I've forgotten lol! But almost every mid or high end weapon in the game is tied to killing the god or group god of that weapons variant.

The paragon must match the Dino. So for your example, you'd need an Alpha blood crystal wyvern paragon to feed it to an alpha blood crystal wyvern.

Thank you for the video, this really is a great Ark mod. My only gripe is that I'm completely stuck doing bosses. I took a LOT of omega dinos (mainly rock drakes and big hard hitters) and they barely survive one basic boss, even with pure health and melee stats. How am I supposed to be able to grind boss souls and upgrade them to be able to take on even just betas if theres no in-between for omega to god tier tames? I also cannot breed at all, even with the settings untouched, which is making it more difficult to spam tames for bosses haha.

So the key is paragons. You need to use dinos that are easy to get paragons for. I always suggest dinos like Jerboa, Deinonychus, Araneo, etc. Things that are plentiful based on the map you're on to get quests and get paragons. As for breeding, if the settings are untouched, you'll need 2 is the same dino variant. You can't breed a rage with an Elemental or something else. They may also need to be the same tier. I forgot if they changed that. So you definitely can it's just much more difficult.

Ahhhh you see I read somewhere if the breeding setting was 1 you could use any tier and any variant, that'll be why its not working! I was trying with two omega rock drakes (different variants). But man its hard getting 2 of the same variant and tier haha. Ohhhhhh I'm such an idiot, I must've fazed out at that part of the video, thank you so much I'll have to try the paragons, I've got loads of the souls just have never used them!

@voxicore I believe it's not setting 1. It's setting 3 if I'm not mistaken that allows breeding from any tier and variant. I thought there was a change up. Yeah using paragons to boost your dinos is absolutely needed to progress and in the beginning you need easy to find paragons. There's lots of options depending on your map.

Paragon souls are used to upgrade Dinos by 100% of their base stats. Paragon shards are used to gene splice non-unique Dinos and a few other things.

I highly suggest starting out by making Set Tokens in the Omega Workbench. Then once you have basic sets you'll kill WAY faster and you'll start seeing items drop more frequently. Also, make sure you're upgrading and rerolling your Charm to get Magic Find. Even a small amount will make finding sets easier.

All dinos lay eggs in this as long as they're variants. Get an egg collector. That's your best route.

You can only use a unique god soul. You get one by making the token at the soul grinder and then summoning it using a God egg. It'll be the same Dino you're riding and very powerful. But after you kill it, you can use it to upgrade your unique Dino to godlike.

I use the Set Mannequin from the Omega Workbench. In the middleI select the specific set I want that mannequin to represent and then I equip it with the entire set. If that doesn't work then I don't know lol

Basic soul is just their way of saying "any" soul. You can use any variant of soul and it will work wherever a recipe called for "basic" souls. Hope that helps! :-)

This starter kit is specific to Chaos Gaming to my knowledge. I'm not playing on an official Omega server so I'm not 100% sure what the exact items you get are but I believe they are a primitive versions of gathering sickle, gathering tool and a knockout club.

The server settings for Chaosgaming for the creature tracker is worst. We cant scan the entire map, we cant scan all creatures. We need to find both male and female for the same type to get unfertilized eggs. In this mod, it is unnecessary as it is PVE.

The problem is the Dino tracker Deluxe with lag the entire nap if you were able to scan all creatures at the same time across the map. What they found out was if you scan for about 800m it doesn't lag the server and everybody can look for dinos. Honestly the fact that they even have creature finder Deluxe is pretty good. Hexen's official servers don't allow it at all.

Also to get eggs they just need to be the same species. So a Brutal rex will mate boost a gamma rex and still produce unfertlized eggs. Also, you don't need to mate boost at all. Just make an Egg collector. Then you just need females.
