OK slip let me tell you the things. I've been living in the exact spot you are now since ark came out. 1. That lagoon spawns sarcos, so be careful and make sure you have something on neutral in your base at that entrance. 2. I'm not sure if it's bugged, but there have been argentavis spawns in those rocks (that's where I tamed my first) here recently, so be careful. 3. Don't leave your dinos on that mountain without protection. I've seen carnos and alpha raptors patrol that mountain and the beach by your house. 4. Just up that main section of the river will be trex and spino spawns, they sometimes make it up the mountain, but rarely. 5. You built your base in sarco hell.

a bronto attack move the parasaurs, so proteus attack him in the border of the pikes, kill him (thats why he had prime meat), so proteus get killed by the spikes wall while he was defending from the bronto.... :(

Great vid! Please dont give up on fighting the sarco in the ocean, best mount for sea taming! The sarco aoe is out front of her nose. The sarco's hitbox is at the saddle in the middle, you can get boxed in and stuck on ichthys, sharks and anglers and not be able to hit anything and then your only choice is to dismount, stay moving and run if too many enemies join the party. You have to get used to the sarco aoe and hitbox being in different places and STAY MOVING!, chasing the sharks tail or trying to go toe to toe will not work. looping in the opposite direction for multiple hits is what works on sharks and plesi's. A strong sarco can handle multiple plesi's but only if you stay moving, and run if too many enemies show up, they will trap you. Did i mention stay moving? Hehe

Check the top of mountain and around it @ 75,45 just North West of your base for nice number of Metal + Crystals Slip. With your server settings it should yield just enough metal and cyrstals you would ever need, so you won't have to go to Volcano for large amounts again. (Same there with the occasional Raptors though, I've even saw 1-2 Alpha raptors, but in a 6 month long period that is) Hopefully you will see this, 3rd time I'm mentioning it

+demran Also there is a veeery close Underwater Cave @ 90, 71 just South East of your base, yeah Boots can't go down there quick enough but an Ichthy would do the trick just nicely, lots of Pearls & Oil there (though you can't carry much oil back with a low level Ichthy, but you got the Dodo Kibbles after all for a much better weight high level one)

+demran I was just thinking that too - My tribe's base is right next to where sl1p's is, and that mountain was super helpful early-mid game. Eventually we started mining the volcano and other mountains up north, but that hill is pretty great if you have a quetz and an anky

Hey Slip, small Tip/trick for ya, carry a Dimo on your shoulder while ya Bug hunt, he will attack from your shoulder and help kill bugs, but wont eat them since hes on your shoulder. Don't ever throw him off, as he will do the spin of death to the sky with bugs. Also keep some stims on your Beefy, dealing with snakes can stack up topor quick

+Eain Davis not really, he can use them for more weight when he goes for metal runs. It would also mean he could use the fast quetz to bring untamed dinos to a taming pen for him to knock out and it would speed up the whole process. This would also mean he can go over to another players base and still be safe because the plant species x turrets could shpot at him but he has the health and speed to get away unlike pteranodons.

Argentavis only spawn around mountain or in the snow any place away from that is they found their way there by following a food source. I have a test world where i test things on the xbox one. Just watch a specific carnivore and watch it makes its way. Im on the same island as slip and just up the river towards the green obelisks is where a bunch of T Rexes spawned from day one I watched them gradually making there way to my base. I killed one and tamed the rest which there where 4 but one disappeared so I actually tamed 2 killed 1 and the other disappeared. Hopefully I find the one that disappeared.

+XxAUSSIEGAMERxX You replied to the wrong comment here, but dinos will only follow food sources around the map when players are nearby because those map sections have to be loaded in for the server to simulate their behavior, otherwise they go into stasis and nothing happens until a player comes back.

the ceiling thing wasn't working with the thatch because it wasn't hanging off the edge - it was impacting with the dino platform. So you have to place two side by side on the platform (IE not one in the center) so that the next set is hanging completely off the platform. Nice work!

A couple fence foundations might work, iirc they can blend well vs standard foundations and prevent respawns (I usually build double walls on foundations to keep the glitching into base stuff from happening)

a little think that u might didnt know is that ur paracer takes the weight from his inv, the storage, the smithy and the forge. but it will not take the weight of the anky just standing on its platform. so u can leave anky there for extra storage if u want.

it works with wood ceilings too. I also found it's easier to pair up sacos as well as frogs when it comes to fighting. AI targeting for tamed dinos is better, makes it less of a hassle.

If you're still worried about Cementing paste the area where poop city was has titanomyras and dragon flies EVERYWHERE. And its pretty passive too that's where I use my beefybutt and I usually get around 600 or so Cementing paste. Just a thought

Dude make some Lazarus Chowder and you can stay underwater for a LONG time. It helps to farm oil and not have to surface every second. Also try getting a couple Dung beetles. They make oil and fertilizer from just putting poop in them. Since you have a few huge dino's the large poop makes quite a bit of fertilizer and oil. It only takes 15 minutes for them to it and you can load them up before you leave, log off etc etc and they'll be done before you get back

To prevent accidental deaths like that again, Place down stone or wooden, or even thatch walls, then place the spikes on the outside of the walls, that way monsters on the outside will get spiked, but friendly dinos will just walk into a wall. It wont looks all that great, but it's far safer!
