Hey, Sl1p, thanks for taking the time to do projects like this still with all the content you put out these days. It's really good to see big projects like this get finished and look so good. Sl1p, There is a fix for the pillar issue! If you ever want your pillars not to stick through your ceilings, follow these 4 steps: 1. Place 1 pillar sticking halfway through the ceiling 2. place a second pillar underneath it, but look for the LOWEST snap! There's 2 snaps very close to eachother, this might take some time. 3. Build your pillar all the way to the ground so it is supported 4. Demolish the pillar sticking halfway out on top Like this so Sl1p will see it please, he still has some stuff and things to learn about building! Great vid!

Slip you can fix the pillar nipples by placing a pillar on one of your no nipple ceilings and placing another ceiling on it and build out placing pillars down the new ceiling layer, it should make the pillars even. Then you can even out your wall by connecting ceiling with the main build. Its the sand layer that's under the ground that is causing snap errors

Hey Slip, you can fix those protruding pillars. For the first pillar of the new column put it half way through the ceiling. With the second pillar underneath it you have to angle your camera right and get a bit below the level of the pillar. There is a sweet spot where the snap will drop down about 6". Place that pillar in that sweet spot then you can demolish the one that is half way through the ceiling leaving the newest pillar at the same height as the ceiling.

I love those montages. And I understand the troubles of underwater building. I helped make an epic bridge for my tribe, and there's ONE ceiling tile that won't place even though there's pillars in practically all other surrounding tiles. It just doesn't seem fair that scenery can bring a build to a stop sometimes.

Good advice for placing pillars. If the next pillar says obstructed. Place one additional on the "first" pillar to build two high. then the next should be working! and it will snap one that is "two" high...

During the funktage it looked like Mostrosity was dancing along =) Hey Sl1p - I have a cheaty suggestion for you - my monitor has a feature that displays a crosshair in the centre of the screen. It makes it super helpful for placing building structures, picking up eggs, spotting dino levels etc. Mine is an ASUS PG278Q, but I'm sure there are others with this feature. A cheaper alternative would be to place a tiny amount of bluetack on the longneck crosshairs =)

Dear Slip,You realize you can just push the pen back into the shallows and get Sashimi and Tammy in up to the coast with no problem and give Mostrosity the deep end. That would allow it to turn around without the door problem. Also, big fan of your works, especially the regular Ark series

Place stone foundations to the ceilings you have placed, and the gates will snap. But beware, if you break the foundations, you break the gate as well. Cheers.

To get the pillars flush when building top down, place a pillar half way through the ceiling, when you place the next one down, it has two snap point, the usual one (which will leave the nobble on top) and one slightly lower. You need to slowly look down and you'll see the second snap right before it moves off, you have to look slowly and being lower than the pillar and a little further back to get it. Then to end, you destroy the one half way though the ceiling and hey presto, flush pillar.

Slip, you could've have fixed the ceiling height issue by simply building another ceiling on top of the other one, and then deleting it. It will snap to the one to that's higher.

Build the ceiling down 1 spot to go go down from there and then put a ceiling above it and remove the first ceiling that is below. At most it will be slightly short and you can double stack another ceiling on top to level it.

If you place a pilar halfway through a ceiling, then connect 1 below the ceiling, you can remove the top one and there will be no nub.

you can make the top of the pillars flush to the ceilings... i.e. the 3 left pillars at 20:16 once you've built pillars from the ceiling at the top all the way to the bottom and have a solid foundation, you should be able to remove the topmost pillar of each stack and the ceiling you used to align them (as they now have a proper foundation and wont collapse). if you then work from right to left to replace the pillars, you should find you are now able to snap them a little lower and keep them level with the original topmost pillar/ceiling, which would give you flush ceilings all the way across. hope that makes sense, it'd be so much easier to demonstrate in a video... i'll see what i can do
