People here speaking of not seeing any beer or having some beer. The best fun doesn’t have to be done with alcohol. And at the end of the day everyone makes it home safe and no innocent lives are put in danger. God Bless!!

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen frogs that big! My husband used to go frog huntin and they never used a gig. They drank a cooler full of beer first! They stayed out all night. He was so drunk and tired one mornin he left them in the toe sack and all the frogs got out by the time he woke up! He never thumped until time to clean. After we had kids he gave up the drinkin, thank God! Really thank God! But they had some good times frog huntin! We’re about to get Amazon here in north Louisiana. It’s what I’m hearing on our local news channel. Will help with much needed jobs. I hope there’s still people who want to work!

I never went frog gigging, but my brother did. The last time he went he didn't get them cleaned right, and when Momma was cooking them, they were kicking in the pan as she was frying them. She told him that if he brought anymore home him was going cooking them. She didn't like what she was cooking looking like it was still alive. He may have went some more with his friends but he didn't bring any home with him. Love you'll stay safe, and God bless you and yours. Dan 🇺🇸

Brings back memories of being a kid in the 60's gigging frogs, jug fishing at night. Lost a few flashlights, pulled up a snapper or two (YOW !) but ate a mess of frogs and fish too. That was a long time ago though.

many many years ago, on a farm pond far far away, we took my Boy Scout troop camping and my Dad took the 22 down to the old alligator tank and came back with about 50 large bullfrogs. At the time, Dad was selling wholesale groceries and we had a couple of cases of SpaghettiO's. He cleaned and cooked all those frog legs up in a 36" cast iron skillet with those SpaghettiO's and all of us ate til we just about burst! good times!! Unfortunately, it was many years later before the bullfrog population was able to recover..

Now those are some decent sized frogs. I remember when Deer Meat & his brother Gabe did a frog catching video where they were catching these little baby frogs, & crowing about how huge they were. I grew up summers in MO & the frogs we took were about the size y'all were catching, & a bit bigger. I like to go froggin' in the daytime. I take a Mepps roostertail spinning lure and dangle it from above to within 2 to 5 inches from its mouth & as aggressive as them Missouri Frogs are, frog just leaps and catches itself by biting the lure. Big fun & the bugs aren't as bad. Big fun. Never frogged like y'all are but I've gigged, fished & shot them with a .22 or a Pellet rifle. Big fun & good eatin' to boot. God bless you & yours, Brother David.

First time I went froggin barehanded in the Pearl River (the south end between MS and LA) when I was about 13. A bit terrifying to be out there at night and reaching into the great unknown. I was with a crew that was grabbing little gators by hand too. Well, I grabbed my first frog so hard with two hands it peed all over me, but I didn't let go. 😂😂 Oddly exhilarating. My first time being stung by a wasp that night too.
