You had better luck than I at the overlook in your thumbnail. Last time I stopped there for a photo I picked up a rusty nail, and only got a couple miles before I got to practice my roadside tube patching technique! Beautiful country, though.

That's a beautiful area. I have family in Mountain Home, and I always enjoy taking the bike out there to go riding. I've been out to Eureka Springs and all throughout SW MO. Great riding no matter what roads one likes.

That Bluff looks similar to the 'Turtle Rocks' at Petit Jean State Park further Southest in Arkansas. There are a lot of iron deposits that make the rocks look smooth/rounded. Ponca also has a visitor's center that focuses on the Elk in the area...and they have clean restrooms.

What a breathtaking view at the Chicken head bluff. Nice scenic route you took John. Maybe they call it lost valley trail because of the lost people wandering along the trail🤣🤣. Thanks for taking me along. Take care and ride safe.

Another great video as always. Was a nice way to pass the time while having breakfast. Been many years since I was in that area. Went hiking around Hawksbill Crag that time.

Enjoyed the video John. Crossed the Current River on 60 today headed west. Beautiful scenery throughout the video. The Mitas rubber looked meatee. Look forward to the next installment and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!

15:28. A few years ago that road was dirt. you'll pass Smith cemetery on your left, my sister is buried there.

Another great video, Jon. I'd have to say, you got closer to the edge there at Chicken Head Bluff than I would have. Chicken of heights (among other things) you know. And kudos to the white Tiger for handling all that steep stuff as well as it did. Up and down hills didn't seem to faze it. So, keep up the good work while the weather holds out!

Theres a county dirt road that will take you from Lurton to Woolum crossing the Buffalo river at the end.

Seems there's no end to the interesting and beautiful places to ride in Arkansas! But it seems no place is safe these days - what with all the suspicious rocks loitering along the sides of the road 🤣 So is the "mailbox index" you use to determine how challenging a road is going to be similar to the "Waffle House Index" people use to measure how bad a storm is? Seems like a reliable system!

Just wondering why do you say "government woods"?
@ozarksbackroads548421 күн бұрын
Good to hear from you sir, Government Woods refers to the National Forest lands owned by the US Government... thanks for watching... :)
