Trooper Jessica McCord: I commend you on your quick recovery of vehicle control. That was definitely a "Pucker Factor 9.5" moment. Well handled. Unfortunate that it bought the suspect vehicle the window it needed to escape. You did everything you could! If that driver had *at least* used their indicator, she would've had some semblance of warning, but as it was... Bloody hellFIRE was that a dangerous lane change on the part of that civilian driver.

Absolutely she handled that like a pro!!! If only people understood it's best not to change lanes all of a sudden thinking you're getting out of the way for the sirens. Best thing to do when its multiple lanes like that is to stay in your lane and slow down until you know EXACTLY where the sirens are coming from and which lane they are in. When you see they are in your lane and you are in the way, put your blinker on and move!!!! People panic and think OMG sirens, time to make drastic lane changes right when the sirens get very close to me and end up in the cops way or just don't move out of the way at all.

As a former EMT, my disgust(besides the criminal) is the people who do not pull over or stop for the police-or other emergency vehicle It’s tough enough for these officers having to chase criminals and protect the rest of us. The least civilians can contribute is to give them clear passage.

I always try to get over for the Emergency Vehicles...wether it's the Police, Ambulance or Sheriff's Department or the Troopers....of course I learned that in my High School's Driver's Education Class... I was amazed - that bike sounded healthy but that rider - with no gear other than a helmet, was lucky a sore shoulder was all he got. He could've just as easily been hamburger for 1/4 along the highway at those speeds.

If you had been parked along the highway, say changing a tire. A police chase comes your way and the cop pits the vehicle and it spins right into you changing that tire and knocks you about 100 feet down the road. Are you gonna walk back, if you can, and thank the cop for keeping you safe? That happens every single day. People just don't hear about it. Thanks for keeping us safe? I don't think so

Trooper McCord, I must say holy absolute shit your reflexes and driving skills are top notch. I dont think many people realize you lost control at over 100mph and still recovered in just a couple hundred feet then quickly maneuvered to avoid hitting the back of the white suv. I've fishtailed and lost control going 65 one time, managed to recover but my god at 100+ is a whole nother story. You're one of the best and did all you could, if only that idiot knew he gave a potential murderer time to escape.

That guy was doing his best to make it across that bridge and into Memphis, Tennessee where Arkansas State Police are not allowed to pursue except in the most extreme cases. Arkansas State Police have to contact Memphis police and ask them to pick up the pursuit and Memphis never does.
