We actually play a difficulty what we call "Story Mode". We start with normal but -Once the auto-fail token is pulled in that scenario, we leave it out. Nothing worse than pulling that 3 times in a row... which has happened a few times.

I watched this stream Live last night/early hours of this morning. I had to stifle my laughter in bed, for fear of getting an elbow in the ribs from she who must be obeyed. I watched it again today and almost fell of the sofa at some of the chat/channel interactions. Best one ever was at 3:04:50 when Mel says "And before the chat has an aneurism...etc" 😂🤣

With a view to upgrades for playthrough #2. I've looked at Uncle George the Farmer's suggested upgrade routes, and they look pretty solid. I would only add, for Roland, perhaps the following alternative for discussion. 1x Elder Sign Amulet - 3XP 1x Encyclopaedia - 2XP 1x Extra Ammo - 1XP These cards give you a chance of support in areas you a need, sanity loss, extend gun usage, boost to lower skill numbers for Roland or Wendy. These would replace 2x Vicious Blow and then any combination of 1x Knife or 1x Physical Training. This upgrade also replaces 4x Fight skill icons, which I think you have too many of anyway, with 1x Willpower, 1x Intellect and 2x Wild. Suggestion for Mel. If you love Leo De Luca then consider upgrading him to make it cheaper to play him from your hand. P.S. Looks like the Phantom Disliker has found a friend 🤢

As Rob said during the intro, if you are going to get into this game you need 2 starter sets to run 2 investigators with anything like reasonably constructed decks.

Since you have two Core sets, my chaos bag recommendation is to include a second Elder Sign token (blue token) in the bag. Either take whichever base bag you want and replace a 0 in it with the second Elder Sign for a roughly-equivalent bag, or else use the Standard bag and simply add in the extra token for something harder-than-Easy but slightly-easier-than-Standard (this has a big gamefeel advantage over Easy since the minus-3 and minus-4 provide extra uncertainty and also happen to reduce the frustration of the autofail token -- Easy isn't so much "easy" as it is just predictable-unless-you-draw-the-autofail). The important point with this is that it makes investigators' Elder Sign abilities happen, well, basically *ever* -- they're no longer glorified flavor text, but instead are actually meaningful changes to how the investigators play out in-game. (The Elder Sign is usually ~0-with-occasional-upside, and you generally shouldn't be voluntarily making tests unless you're at least 1-above anyway, so a second elder sign doesn't really throw off the math -- it just produces more interesting and fun results.)

So if they are in the same location, can't she spend an action to engage with the Rats so that they are engaged with her and then spend another action for an evade attempt? I believe that this is what Rob is demonstrating.

I’m at 2 hours. So maybe you talk about this later. I think you misunderstand Wendy’s amulet. Any event Wendy plays while amulet is in play end up at the bottom or her deck. So playing events from discard only works for cards that are in discard before playing the amulet.

about the card discussion, is it not a co operative game? and as such is it not obvious that u know ur partner investigators cards, any other play through of this they talk about their cards... just started playing this, so not a criticism just an observation

Not sure I understand this thing of buying 2 core sets. Surely this immediately breaks the game by making a 2 investigator game op. Buying 2 core sets is meant to be if you gonna play 3/4. At least I assume the suggested character builds in db.com are based on, in at least some instances, of characters both having cards for which there is only one in the core set
