0:11 Advancing the agenda removes Doom from everything in play 0:22 The agenda doesn't advance until the Mythos phase or until a card says 'this can cause the agenda to advance' 0:36 When performing a skill test you may commit any number of hand cards to the test. Each other investigator at the same location may commit 1 hand card to help 0:50 When another player commits a card in a skill test to help you, they get the side benefits of this card's effects 1:04 You win ties on skill tests. After all active modifiers have been applied to a skill test, any resultant value below zero is treated as zero 1:24 Permanent cards do not count towards your deck size. They start each game in play and they cannot be discarded by any means 1:38 There can be no more than one instance of each Unique card, by title, in play at any given time 1:48 A card with the Exceptional keyword costs twice it's printed XP cost. A player's deck cannot include more than 1 copy, by title, of any given Exceptional card 2:02 Indirect damage/horror can be assigned to allies 2:16 You can use action triggered abilities on cards in the threat area of another investigator at the same location as you 2:28 Assets with depleted charges/supplies still remain in play unless discarded by a card ability or game step 2:40 When purchasing a new card during campaign play, you must pay a minimum of 1 XP

This is a really nice, smooth presentation: the graphics are clean and well used; the narrative is straightforward, without being sullied by lame attempts at humor; the voice over is clear; and the music bed is just interesting enough without overpowering the information. (I've literally only gone through two turns in the solo core set, so I can't speak to much of the information; however, those rules are a little deeper into my brain now that you've brought attention to them. I need all the help I can get!) Well done!

Thank you very much for your feedback! I really hope the video is helpful for your first full game! It's tough, but if you can avoid these mistakes at least, it should be a good starting point :)

The Exceptional rule in here is not quite right. Generally "cost" on its own refers to a cost in resouces. Exceptional does not double the resource cost of the card. It doubles the XP cost required to purchase it. For example Gold Pocket Watch is a 4 XP Exceptional card. It would cost 8 XP to actually put it into your deck though. The resource cost is still as printed.

@@CommonRulesMistakes Oh god I was kidding, do your self a solid and save that one for way later or April first. It is a MASSIVE endeavor to play, like meet up for breakfast then start and hope you can finish the same day.

Small correction: You can use triggered abilities on *encounter cards* in another player's threat area, not all cards. You can't trigger abilities on player cards in their threat area, like Daisy's Necronomicon.

@@CommonRulesMistakes while the correction is technically right, it is not necessary. 1. Only encounter cards can be in your threat area, so no need to clarify that. 2. Daisy's Necronomicon cannot be triggered, bc it's not in the threat area. It is in a play area. It even takes a hand slot. You cannot trigger any action on any asset in other players' play area.

@@romankovalsky8337 Incorrect. Daisy's Necronomicon clearly states that you must add it to Daisy's threat area.

Corrections: *Exceptional Cards: The XP cost required to purchase an exceptional card is doubled, not the resource cost. *Threat Area: You can use triggered abilities only on encounter cards in another player's threat area. Some clarifications on the second point. Basic Weaknesses or Weaknesses that are Treacheries or Enemies count as Encounter cards even if they come from a player deck. A player card is an Asset/Event/Skill/Investigator. Everything else is an Encounter card. Also important to note is that in the video it states "action triggered ability". It doesn't have to be an "action" triggered ability, it can be any triggered ability, including reaction abilities and free triggered abilities. In other words, anyone can trigger the reaction ability's of Roland's Cover Up or the free trigger ability of Skids' Hospital Debts, provided they are at the same location.

What counts as indirect damage? Wow I have been playing it wrong i think! Great vid!
@CommonRulesMistakes
@CommonRulesMistakes 3 жыл бұрын
Any damage/horror with the prefix "direct" means you can't assign it to an asset/ally. However, you can freely assign indirect damage/horror (which is just named "damage/horror" without a prefix), e.g. you can assign damage/horror you take from treachery cards to allies/assets.
