Yes, they just stand there posing, acting like the character. Organizers will help with staffs (like specalter or hoolheyak, the rest i think fan cosplay) because you are wearing tons of make-up, the wig could be misaligned or tail, head ornaments hitting places so staffs is very helpful. Not to mention private resting zone. If you weren't hired, you would have to take care all of that yourself( you will hire staff yourself anyway). So, in short, they were hired to just stand there and the organizers will take care almost everything else

About promoting, i dont think so. But it depends on the contract. And yes, there are specific spot for each cosplayer.

These are officially hired cosplayers rather than cosplayer fans who attend the events (there are a lot of those too, for example there's Penance fan cosplayer who actually took a picture with Penance's official artist without knowing it's her). The official cosplayers are to stand in specific spot related to their settings. For example, skadi at seaborn set. I think they have like half hour rest for every two to three hours, and fans can line up to take picture with some of them. Others are behind fence, so fans can't selfie.

@@diwucalberich462 Because these are humans (human like. I will speak on this later). And it's not like I will literally kill them, this is more of a joke instead of an actual thing. For this I "used" the "hatred" towards furries or rather said, the cliché to kill/hate (in a joking way) furries since they are viewed as "cursed" (maybe other reasons but the cliché is there). In other words this is simply a joke. Now to my first sentence. They look good when "wearing the clothes"(including the wig and more) as Aak. What the actual problem is (or rather said where the joke begins), is when they start "taking/making/whatever the shape of Aak" (basically his face) which results them looking like human dogs/cats/furries (and this is jokingly viewed as cursed or so). And again, with that I don't mean anything offensive, this is simply a joke. So if you don't like this joke and/or if it's too offensive for you, then I am more than happy to rewrite/delete my previous written message. So please tell me if that's the case for you and/or anyone else.
