First of all, thank you so much for doing this reaction. Now let me try to explain what it's about. Mantra(intro) is the intro to their album Khram and it represents a ritual where Mara(goddess of death and bringer of winter in slavic mythology) is invoked to take the soul of the listener(you) from the Yav( the material world around us ) and into the Nav(world of spirits). There's a reprise, Mantra(Outro) at the end of the album that invokes Mara once again to bring you back into Yav. They even do this live. All their Khram set, even if it's not the whole album, is enclosed within the Mantras because it must be listened to from the Nav. The second song, Shtorm (actually means Storm, but I'd leave the shit part out when doing the interview🤣🤣) describes her encounter with Shtorm, as an entity. Half way through the song she wakes up and realizes that it was a dream, so she goes out and throws herself into the storm, this time for real! All the songs on the album have different and very unusual concepts. You can dig deeper into it here if you feel like it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGK0Xp-LrbR7nbs It's good research for the interview I guess! Thanks again for the reaction! Really made my day!

Arkona and seeing Masha Scream are one of my favorite times I have spent at a concert. I'll have to put some thought into a question, but really looking forward to your review of that concert. You're in for one hell of a night my friend. \m/

November 13, 2016 is when I saw these guys for the first time opening for Epica in Edmonton. I knew nothing about them going in, and they blew my fucking socks off. I'm seeing them next month as well when they come through Edmonton again! I am so excited!

I love this band! I saw them live back in 2012 for Pagenfest with Alestorm and Turisas. I don't get to go to many concerts but it was one of my best. BTW, Masha does speak English.

Yes that is how they start the show. Awesome reaction and I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for doing it and for giving us the chance to ask questions. Now about that interview. This last album and the one before were a lot darker (more black metal oriented) then previous folk metal albums and a lot better if you ask me. I'm really curious of what drove this change and also what made Masha (vocals) and Sergey (guitar) decide to have their children chanting at certain points on these albums. I strongly recommend listening to both "Khram" and "Yav" full albums (just for your enjoyment) because they are absolutely fantastic. Also I think doing the interview with a translator would be a great idea. They did it before and I think they would approve. It would allow them to give you more detailed and complete answers to your questions. Thank you for the awesome reaction and for putting up with my colossal rant. I hope you enjoy the show! 🖤 P.S : NEW JINJER - APE

Tbh I'm Russian and I'm not digging Grai all that much, I feel like they're one of the Arkona copycats and I've heard quite a few of them. And Grai don't even have bagpipes.

They started the show in Wacken like that with Mantra and Shtorm, pretty sure the'll do it in Toronto. I wish you a lot of fun at the concert, it'll be great a show. I love the "witch" theme in their shows and in their album and Arkona's actually one of the few bands that released better and better albums in my opinion. Thought I write a comment again after a long time of silence :D Greets from Germany! :)

Hi guys! Please check out Swallow the Sun, a Finnish doom metal band. Great songs to start with: Falling World, 10 Silver Bullets, Lost & Catatonic, ...And Heavens Cried Blood, Silent Towers. They released their latest album Songs from the North I, II & III in 2015 and that triple album (yes, a triple album) gathers masterfully Finnish melancholy and mental landscape during long and dark winter... Other great Finnish (progressive death) metal band is Barren Earth, but I'm going to promote it after you first check Swallow the Sun.
