We are on the right asumption, but we have the wrong conclusion. What is an Archon? The Guardian God and the ruler of a nation. What ir the Archon is composed of three beings. Furina, representing the Godly authority; Neuvillete, the authority over the land as the Hydro Sovereign, and the Oratrice, who has the Gnosis and it's the heart of Fontaine's justice system. It also makes sense when the idea of three Powers of the State started in France, the inspiration for Fontaine.

Could it be that while the Hydro archon was fighting in the Cataclysm way back and died, her nation Fontaine, was also facing its battle? Without their archon, Fontaine fell and lost as well. Then, Furina, the current archon was born in Fontaine after Egeria’s passing. She learned that everybody there have died and that she’s all alone. Maybe those were her tears (feelings) that we can still hear in the fountain of Lucine. Out of desperation and love for Fontaine, she revived everyone using the primordial sea waters, as oceanids. Everyone in Fontaine ARE oceanids. Fontainians are elemental beings, that’s why we can harvest their energy via the Oratrice to power the nation. Furina probably was cursed by Celestia for doing so, for interfering with what should have been (reviving the people).Celestia took her divine power and even her consciousness, but she was able to put her gnosis in the oratrice first so she can still guide and be able to fulfill her role as an archon, God of Justice even by means of becoming a machine. The current Furina probably is an empty shell of what Furina used to be, cursed by Celestia for all we know.

Now that we have the context of Chapter IV Act V, is it any wonder why Furina was so traumatized? It wasn't that she almost died; it's that Arlecchino found out she was a fraud. And if word of that got out, the prophecy would be fulfilled and Fontaine would be destroyed. I actually want to see Furina try to get some revenge on Arlecchino. However, despite having a Hydro Vision now, Furina would probably still lose against the Knave. I could, though, see Arlecchino commending Furina for mustering up some courage since their last encounter.

What if Furina’s naivety is nothing more than a deceptive act that she just loves to put on? Just like Sigewinne said (thought?) “I like smart people, but I also like playing dumb. I like the feeling of “being trusted.”” However in Furina’s case, she likes the feeling of being underestimated.

Not really, if you recall at the start of fontaine traveler was about to challenge Furina to a duel and she got scared inmediately, the people were not interested so that's why she pulled the ''aha '' thing and act she does, she's not strong but the people do think she is, they expect her to be able to defend herself but the fact is that she's so weak right now that she stays all the time in her house or the opera and always with neuvillete on sight, i don't think it was a bait she was truly just trying to pet a cat and someone tried to kill her, something is wrong with her yes but her naive and scared self is not a lie , she is trying to be a leader but is so incredibly lost by the profecy she didn't even think on an emergency plan in case she can't stop the disaster shes a mess and there's probably a reason tbh

This whole thing is just adorable, in a "so they think their tough" kind of way. Arle literally has the Assassins Creed thing going on where she would be an obvious target of another stalker with the right amount of braincells. The "stylish" thing is probably just Mihoyo trying to make her look good. Good looking clothes while still "feeling" like an assassin. Furina's so weird. Like we know she's an archon and she has little to no demonstration of being an archon. I hope we can get some archon feats in the 4.2 quest. The only thing that might make her interesting is that she's the only archon so far to recognize the traveler and expect his arrival before u arrive and depending on ur playstyle, u could come to fontaine right after mondstadt; but that could easily be explained by other things like newspapers and stuff. (and then ofc, the inazumins actually knew u were coming too cuz Ayaka was eager to meet u)
