I’m glad I watched this video. Got a 5x8 with the black cover that came in the mail a couple days ago and I’m still a little hesitant to try out this paper. Love the dramatic intro lol! I've been enjoying my Paul Rubens paints, they are so affordable compared to other brands of their quality. I picked up one of those blocks, and it does look super fancy from the outside. I had a little bit of an issue with mine, the glue around the edges was really messily applied so my top sheet was overall pretty dirty and only good for a practice sheet. Otherwise I was impressed. I assume the spring difference in the brushes have to do with Neptune being synthetic and Paul Rubens being real squirrel hair?

Thank you for the review, The Paul Rubens for Amazon.ca are expensive (the paint that is), yet the paper is fairly inexpensive and I've been thinking of order it but too nervous just in case its a waist of money. Your review has been very helpful. Also, I loved the dramatic music at the beginning, I found it to be funny and sooo fitting :)

Gansai Tambi is my all time favorite! Literally, all I use to watercolor. They're also very affordable.

The paper, on Amazon Canada, is currently at least 2$ less than Arches hot press from certain places in Toronto. So I would say it's not that bad. Thank you for the intro to this. :)

Hi! I really love the art piece so much!! It’s really beautiful!! But I have a quick question which watercolor sets do you recommend? I’ve been in between Paul Rubens, Arteza and the Prima Watercolor confections but I don’t know which one would be best on the colors and quality, they all seem great but it’s a difficult choice. I would say I’m a bit familiar with watercolor since I have the Winsor Newton and Cotman set but I would like to expand a bit more since I’m not much of a beginner anymore. However I don’t like the idea of getting big sets. I do like having limited pans and I noticed all three brands have 12 color sets. I’ve been researching a lot but I would really like your input since you’ve used all sets before. I would really appreciate it and I honestly adore your art!! ❤️❤️

The Paul Rubens cold pressed paper from a previous video disappointed me. The paper in this video, hot pressed, I like very much! Definitely performs WAAAY better than what I was expecting after the cold pressed. :]
