If you’re reading this I see you. I’m proud of you for being here. You’ve come so far. I pray that you get the healing you need for your broken soul. Thank you for not giving up. You’re a hero to many, though you feel like you may have failed, here you are. I’m proud of you.

"I remember when you told me, When I believed I'd never be lonely, I think you were lying..." *This is the next part of the lines you posted that really cannot be separated from each other and are what I am referring to.* I'm a poet myself and I have been replaying these exact lines over and over and over again all night and all day today. I am absolutely in awe of the ability of a songwriter to be able to capture everything I have ever felt in just a few lines. I have written many hundreds of lines of poetry and many dozens of poem without ever being able to so simply and profoundly express this exact feeling that I feel. I have literally been showing this song with the emphasis on this line to everyone I possibly can. I am in tears even now, hearing it for the hundredth time.

Years ago I stumbled upon Benjamin Todd; then that path led me to Matt Heckler and only naturally Tyler Childers. Sure, forks in the road are to be expected. But when one sign points toward mumble rap and the other to something that can only be crafted by a conscious mind, well that's when you find priceless treasures such as this.

Just saw Arlo and his band at The Ark, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, last night. I was only introduced to Arlo McKinley by playing samples of his songs, while viewing the show schedule at The Ark. Then I listened to more of his songs on You Tube. I decided to purchase two tickets to the wonderful venue that The Ark is, and hoping my wife would agree to go with me as she is skeptical of seeing bands she's unfamilar with. (She is also legally blind with a bad back and doesn't feel comfortable out after dark). Anyway, Arlo started the show with a few solo acoustical songs, which were quite amazing. Then he added his band, one member at a time, until he had the whole group onstage. That's when I realized that we were seeing a great performance, one of our most memorable in a while. A terrific songwriter, singer, and humorous musician with a wonderful backup band. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again if he performs somewhere near us in the future. Loved the show.

Ben Tolleson - Thanks for the encouragement brother. It's a slippery slope I'm on right now...lost my Dad recently, who was the only one who believed in me. The rest have written me off I think. My girlfriend is on the verge of cutting out. I realize how selfish it is and how it affects everyone else now, which I didn't before...but it's so easy to use to forget all the stuff weighing on me, if only for a little while. Then, regret over the money I blew to run from my problems which always puts me in another tight spot. You know how it is...a vicious cycle. I am a religious man though, however, I feel it would be wrong to pray for help when I know I'm not ready to stop. I think that would only be worse. Crap, gotta go bro..my eyes are starting to tear up. Appreciate the prayers though. Quitting again has been heavy on my mind lately. Thanks

Check out "once again" and "the hurtins done"! There isn't one song that arlo sings that I don't like. I can't think of any other artist that I can say that about. He's by far my favorite artist right now and he doesn't even have a strong voice but I find it so soothing for some reason. " we were alright " is another great one

Is it just me? Or does this have the feel of grunge and country mixed together. Like if Alice in Chains did some country.

phatfire29 I have listened to this so many times because I also hear a strong similarity to another song from years ago.. like 90ish... and I still can't put my finger on it.. I love it and love how a newer song can take us back yet also give us something fresh!!!
