So does the pro 5S 2K need a max that needs to connect to Internet?

Arlo autmatisation does not work without daily manual action and reset. Arlo does not have any support for automatisation. The cameras are ok but it is crap when it comes to use the feature that all testers find good. They never use them in IRL.

Hi...does this work with the older Arlo magnetic wall mounts ?

Ooh, good question. I don't have any of the older ones around any more, unfortunately, and it would depend on what you mean by "older", as there was a definite point where Arlo switched to much larger camera bodies with a slightly different curve to them. Those ones might not work (though maybe the magnets might be strong enough to overcome that, albeit not as neatly).
