They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.

Just unloaded my last Arlo camera. When they stopped supporting the cameras and tried to force people on the subscription plan, it was the last straw. I got the 2 camera kit at Costco for $300 and added two more cameras. They would disconnect which involved climbing up and down a ladder to get them and take them in to the base station to sync. They needed a sync option on the phone app. They would go off on a moving tree branch but would not film the porch pirate in direct line of view. Battery life was maybe 30 days and no warning other than you constantly checking the devices on the app. I just got a 6 camera system with better cameras ( wider coverage angle and the ability to block out certain areas from setting off the camera) that included audio for half the price. Only 2 batteries needed per camera and a 2 year battery life. Easier install with only 2 screws and a snap on camera which solved the problems of the camera screw loosening or the parts dying. It has an optional subscription that includes an extended warranty and extra options.

Maybe you need to have a reality check on the monthly subscription fees. Nothing budget about this move by Arlo. I love the earlier Arlo idea of a base station where you plug in a hard drive to store all the recordings for FREE!, this move just feels like a money grab.

Arlo 3 and base stations have been know to interfere with home wifi due to channel conflicts. This model is a good option.

Buyer Beware: These are great unless you don't want to have to pay $15 a month basically to use the product. Without the monthly subscription the only thing that these will do is show you a live feed with about 5 second delay. So if someone is stealing your package, breaking into your house or tagging your sidewalk, you can see it happen after it's already occurred. If you are monitoring live. There is no way to get a motion sensor recording onto your device of computer without buying the subscription service. So shell out $350 for a system that costs $15 a month to actually use. LAME.

We bought extra batteries and a charger for ours. We swap out the low batteries and then recharge them. Works great. We have Arlo 2. Wish the record time was a bit longer and it caught things moving further away from the camera.

BUYER BEWARE!!: Arlo and most products like Ring have a major flaw on IOS systems. You only get one notification when a sensor is triggered with no repeat options or sound customization which means you will miss/sleep through these most of the time - absolutely unacceptable for an alarm system. Thousands of users have complained about this on the Arlo forum for years to no effect. I have and Arlo system which I will replace as soon as a proper product is available on IOS

I have a pet door and two dogs. Ring uses the 'barking dogs' sound for notifications. My dogs quickly picked up that when they hear that someone is outside. They go running out to bark at wutever. Only one notification needed here!

Can you trigger an indoor camera to record using a separate motion sensor? I am looking to point the camera out a side window to look for deliveries to my front door, and placing a inexpensive motion sensor outside to send back a signal triggering the camera to begin recording (even though the camera may not have detected the motion through the window itself).

Cant record with WiFi connection, so why have it? My arlo pro 3 is nice but I have added external antennas to even get half the advertised range on the base station. . The cameras need an antenna. I do like the system, it just falls to the common theme of looks over function with no external antennas.

I have the Arlo essential spotlight Cameras I have 4 of them I don't recommend them ,I had mine for one year I have them all set on the lowest setting to save the batteries and I have to charge them ever week sometimes sooner they never held a charge for more then one month since I had them .

@@clarkadams895 I did my research and there's not many camera's with a good battery life. The only camera that has a battery with decent life is the nest cam by Google. As long as you aren't using the camera it can last a while on the battery life.

Been testing this Arlo Essential Spotlight Camera. 100% charged and down to 94% after the first day of testing, but my cam is facing sidewalk, street, driveway and picking up lots of motion, even at night (animals). I prefer the spotlight on at night during detection but that greatly depletes the battery. So, camera power will last no more than 20 days. If I decide to keep it before the 30 day return window expires, I'll buy a solar panel to power the cam. On Amazon it's under $40. Hope that helps.

I'm having nothing but troubles with the system. Cameras poorly connect to the hub. The hub freezes all the time. The design of cameras is crappy. The wire is in the way of the mount. The mount is difficult to fix in place. POS!!!

To anybody who wants to buy this camera. Do not buy it. It is a scam. It works great during the trial. But after you subscribe to it it is nothing but problems like buffering. And if you go to reinstall the camera and try to install it it will take 30 if not more times to get a signal to the router. This problem is company and camera wide. When the company decided to compress video files, they altered the video quality being stored. Storing crap video is useless to every home "security" camera. Literally hundreds of people complain about this issue online and customer service does not address or resolve the issue. I just got 4 cameras and I’ve pretty much had to reset the cameras everyday. That MIGHT be ok if I’m home, but what good is a security camera that doesn’t actually stay online when you’re not around to fix it?
