I love hearing the laughter and clapping to the lyrics sung beautifully by Amy and Cathy. I loved seeing Marjorie on stage. She’s so sweet and precious. Arlo is a great guest star!!! The Guthries and Nelsons are great musical families ♥️🎶♥️

Love this song. When I fist heard Sarah Lee sing at a local community event when she was a teenager. My first thought was “she’s got it” meaning she’s a natural entertainer with stage presence. I glad she has been able to pick up the Guthrie folk singing torch.

Just warms my heart to see father and daughter perform together. I have been a lover of Arlo for years and years! Been to the church and Alice;s a few times. He is a sweet wonder! God be with all of them in their time of sadness. We will all meet again in a better land.

Years ago Arlo's son was in the band playing outside at Red Bud Trail, MI. I still remember them playing a humorous song about moose.

Sarah is gorgeous! "Golden River" is one of my all time favorites. Pete does it OK but Arlo puts magic in it and I will never forget one of the times Arlo did it live and it seemed to last forever....What a legacy and I can't believe we are this old but forever young......

So sweet that Sarah Lee holds her hands in front of her before she grabbed the mic just like her father. Of course he has had a lifetime of carpal tunnel and nerve pain which is why he holds onto his hands so nobody can see how swollen and purple they can get. She also has the Pete Seeger sway, like she is enjoying the song in her head before she even sings it. What a cool way to grow up. And now such a legacy being built!

Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Guthrie (July 14, 1912 - October 3, 1967) was an American singer-songwriter and folk musician whose musical legacy includes hundreds of political, traditional and children's songs, ballads and improvised works. He frequently performed with the slogan This Machine Kills Fascists displayed on his guitar. His best-known song is "This Land Is Your Land." Many of his recorded songs are archived in the Library of Congress.[1] Such songwriters as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Pete Seeger, Andy Irvine, Joe Strummer, Billy Bragg, Jay Farrar, Jeff Tweedy, Bob Childers and Tom Paxton have acknowledged Guthrie as a major influence. Many of his songs are about his experiences in the Dust Bowl era during the Great Depression when Guthrie traveled with migrant workers from Oklahoma to California and learned their traditional folk and blues songs, earning him the nickname the "Dust Bowl Troubadour."[2] Throughout his life Guthrie was associated with United States Communist groups, though he was seemingly not a member of any.[3] Guthrie was married three times and fathered eight children, including American folk musician Arlo Guthrie. Guthrie died from complications of Huntington's disease, a progressive genetic neurological disorder. During his later years, in spite of his illness, Guthrie served as a figurehead in the folk movement, providing inspiration to a generation of new folk musicians, including mentor relationships with Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Bob Dylan.

I still love that version of Golden River that Sarah sang at Wolftrap. Only 14, she just captured the essence like nobody's business. Having said that, Arlo's harmonica and guitar just gets better with age, and it's so cool to see them still singing this together. I also still love Arlo singing Golden River on the Muppet Show in 1979 - it's just a timeless piece of music.

I saw Arlo play a special concert as thanks to Guy Logsdan at the University of Tulsa for curating Woody’s archive. Joan Baez joined him in a small amphitheater by the river with just a few hundred students invited for a free concert. One of my best memories from the early 70’s. Glad to see the music stayed in the family.

Check out this video on KZbin: hotforxx One can say that Arlo was a radical or a simple folk singer given talent from his Father. No matter HOW.....it goes, Arlo Guthrie is a class act in my book and a TRUE legend and talent. And he really gets enjoyment from his close knit family. Love and peace to all the Guthrie family. RIP Pete Seeger.
