Don't be afraid to say what you think, Lee! Although, the subtleness is always appreciated~ Arlong really grew on me. I thought he looked ridiculous when i first was him in the trailer. But the actor really convinced me that Arlong, the fishman is *REAL.* McKinley Belcher III is a genius, and it'll be stupid if Marvel or DC doesn't cast him in a big role after this.

True, but I think Mihawk would consider Luffy interesting even just for the fact that Shanks showed to value him enough to given up his hat (which he knew it was important for the red). It's like "I want to see why this kid deserved Shanks (and Roger)'s hat".

My fav part from this episode is seeing Luffy worrying about Zoro and kinda blame himself. He looks like a lost little lamb trying to do everything he could to make Zoro feels better. Inaki really good at delivering those emotions! Btw I agreed ZoroxMihawk fight scene is better in the original, and that Sanji parting scene too it wasn't bad but I prefer the original version.

Not Erza crying every episode....😆 Since yall mentioned it, people who have never seen the One Piece anime or manga do have the same reactions though, tearing up when Shanks leaves his hat with Luffy or Sanji and Zeff say goodbye for example. Thankfully, the story is hitting for everyone who can ride past the opening. 0:55 Yeah that for me applies across the board with animation and its one of the reasons I never stopped watching it as I grew older. Action set pieces and fantastical elements can usually always be done better in animation because you're really only limited by your imagination. I don't know about the live action being straight better than the manga for that reason, but I certainly agree its much better written and paced. It often feels like the manga/anime is just adding filler to the plot to kill time......a recent example that comes to mind is Luffy spending 15 chapters/episodes just climbing stairs to get the roof of a building. As well, I also don't always rock with Japanese humor so I find that the humor here lands better for me as well.
