@OnlineCombatBN When using SOG Prairie Fire, this works for jets/planes, but for helicopters the firing data doesn't work, I also noticed that firing data doesn't work if you don't have a gunner and go to manual fire mode (jet and helicopters), but even regular helicopter firing is not working (works for jets) any idea why this is?

Hello, I did everything exactly according to your video and as far as I understand pewdata does not work in any way in vehicle, and it is impossible to record, for example, a standing but aiming and firing tank, right?

@ilyakoteika1223 pewdata sometimes works, sometimes not. Usually if you are recording a track and firing, it will not record the firing data. Better to put in AI in the gunners seat and have them set to combat mode. They will most certainly fire.

Looked at a comment already made, so I placed the helicopters in different areas and took a decently different flight path, the paths deviate and I can see that but anything after the first Helicopter just teleports into the first helo and wiggs out. I'm stuck

@@rallyupboys are you using the same sqf file for more than one helicopter? You need separate files for each aircraft.

@OnlineCombatBN Sorry it didnt look like it tagged you so im remaking the comment so you might actually see it. Yes they have different sqf. Files. One is named heli1flying and the othe ris heli2flying. Heli 1 worked flawlessly. Once i made the 2nd sqf. File for heli 2 and got the flight data it just borked and teleported to heli1s starting area. I even brought heli 2 a couple km away and redid the flight data and it still just teleported to heli1s start area. This happened with any unitcapture data after heli1s sqf. Was made.

Hey Man - I noticed that for modded birds it doesn't replay the firing sequence of the weapons controlled by the pilot but it does for the gunner. In your tutorial you don't really fire the pilot's rocket so can't really find a solution. You got any tips?

Hi and THANKS for this video! Very helpful! But for me it just works with airplanes / helicopters but not vehicles :( I mean, when I record a vehicle and then activate the record it just will show the classic black box error on screen sayin' something about an error of pewdata and stuff even if I've done the EXACT same thing as for helicopters. :/ Any help / suggestion please? P.S. : It's like if it cannot "run" the gunfire from a vehicle but only from helicopters or airplanes.

The movement of vehicles is possible, but if you leave out the pewdata and just add AI gunners, you'll have them firing. I have not yet seen fire capture work with ground vehicles.

@@OnlineCombatBN well you actually HELPED me! :D Yeah so it's "normal" I mean, there haven't been yet a way to also implement fire capture in replay then. Well anyway it's good if AI gunners still work! EDIT : What about UnitCapture for multiple units? Just need to edit the sqf files for "more"? So for example, halo1, halo2 etc and run commands via radio for each unit?

So, I've been applying this to a vehicle in a mission I'm working on. However, I need the AI driver to honk their horn upon start of the script. To explain the setup, as a player is walking down the street, they hit a trigger that causes the Capture to play until the vehicle it hits an IED. The capture itself is working great, but no luck with the horn. I've tried having the trigger tell the driver of the vehicle to forceWeaponFire, but I don't think I've done the code properly. I know this isn't directly related to Unit Capture, but if you've got any advice, I'd be glad to hear it. For reference, this is the script in the On Activation of the trigger: hog1 engineOn true; []execVM "path.sqf"; driver hog1 forceWeaponFire [currentWeapon _vehicle ,currentWeapon _vehicle ];

I seem to be having issues with an error saying that the script file is not found anytime I attempt to play the captured script. I've double checked that the script is in the same folder as the mission and that the name and file extension match what is being called in the trigger. Googling the issue seems to not be giving me any insight into what might be causing the problem.

The file is not in the right location. That is the only reason you're getting that error.

@@OnlineCombatBN After puzzling about with it some more I figured out what you were getting at, I was putting it in the wrong location entirely. For anyone else that gets the error you can double check the location of your mission folder by selecting "Open Scenario Folder" from the Scenario drop-down menu in the editor to open up the correct folder instead of trying to blindly navigate to it like I did.

Hello ! I've been using another kind of unitcapture for the vehicles before, but your is better for what i'm searching for ! -However, when I attempt to play the animation, it is showing an error message saying: "Script wp.sqf not found"- *Nevermind*, I was able to fix it, I just forgot to put the unit's name in the console ! Thank you a lot for this tutorial !

This is a fantastic tutorial. My only question is regarding some sort of bug. Apparently both the helicopter and plane I’ve used this on for some reason teleport about two meters off the ground and then run the script like they’re on some sort of invisible ground. Not entirely sure how to fix this.

This happens when you have recorded the track and then moved the vehicles in the editor after recording. Delete the recorded tracks, place the aircraft, do a new recording and do not move them.

@@OnlineCombatBN Thanks for the quick feedback! I added a new plane, gave it the proper variable ID, re-recorded my flight path, and didn’t move the plane afterwards. For some reason though it’s still walking on the invisible roadway. If you got any further suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate them.

Does the name of the file match what you have in the Code? If is says not found, it's on the wrong place or the names don't match.

You can do exactly the same thing for tanks. Just make sure the variable names match and you record the paths.

Heya, I was having trouble finding a way to convert txt to sqf but after I solved that. When it try to run "Radio Bravo" I get a black error message at the top of my screen that says a bunch of stuff (I can send photo on other platform if need be). But in the middle of it all it says Error GIAS pre stack size violation Im not a coder and im not very knowledgeable with arma 3. Help would be appreciated :(.

That sounds like it's possibly a 32bit / 64bit error. Are you running the game in 32 or 64 bit? What other mods are you running?

After some time i solved it, turns out there actually needs to be something in the pewdata or it doesnt work, so putting "[]" solves the problem. I am having an issue with some of my unit captures were it says "script not found" when i run Radio Bravo though. (EDIT:, I was using the wrong file, problem solved)

Unfortunately the Helo i use [ mi 24 from RHS ] does not fire at all, It only flys along its designated path and thats it. Would there be any fix for that or mod / error that can stop the helo from firing?

It only records AI firing, not the player fire.

I had the same issue with the Cobra. If you change to manual firing, it will record the data. However, this doesn't work with the RHS Little Bird.

@@TPMTactical hey man increase the FPS which is the middle number in the script, change it from 30 to 70 it should work, if not use different unguided rockets and see which one will work because it worked for me, hope that helps

I did the following: - double click on little bird in eden editor, changed the pylon settings so that all hardpoints are controlled by gunner. - set pilot as player and have ai as gunner position. - started mission, changed to manual fire and then record the data. - This worked.

Ok, you need to place them in DIFFERENT locations if you are using more than one AI unit. This includes starting recordings at different locations and different flight paths.

So I use rhs for my paradrop but my plane never go to the waypoint. Instead it lands at another airfield or just flees from enemy and guns. I put it on careless but it still runs. Please help. I'll even show what mods I use please help.

Ok, firstly, what type of aircraft are you using? Secondly, are you giving the AI aircraft crew (and aircraft) enough run up to the waypoint?

It's not designed for landings. You want a nice landing, fly the plane yourself in the mission.
