i play the DCS fa-18c frequently, and have had a real fa-18c/d pilot talk me through the startup, and tbh for being arma its pretty good. missing some steps like INS alignment, the RWR volume, VOX mic set hot/cold, oxygen flow switch (irl its left on but in DCS its off by defualt), all the displays have to be manually turned on (via brightness knob), you always start the engines left to right, and after the left one is powered up you gotta hit the reset button next to the throttle. i dont know about the super hornets, but on the regular Cs and Es there should be "beer cans" indicating that the wing tips are up, and unlocked. there also should be a nuclear consent switch in the back of the cockpit to the left, just under the windowsill. irl that switch has to be armed in order to drop nuclear ordinance, that was a fun one to learn from the real hornet pilot i was lucky enough to have show me around in the dcs hornet!

It would be pretty cool to add the IBIT. Everything seemed pretty accurate minus cranking the engines. You crank engine 2 (starboard engine) first and wait for it to finish, then move to engine 1 (port engine). I did like that the APU is there and has a pretty accurate startup sound. Kudos to the VFA-14 Tophatter's. They just got back from deployment a few weeks ago.

Oh wow that's really good considering its arma. I've played a bit of falcon bms and naturally it's more detailed (f-18 is not completely ready yet tho) but still this is excellent

Don’t forget to align the INS, set your dispensers to bypass, and cool your AIM9s.

Just a tip, you dont have to select Engine ON in menu, it will engage itself after 3 - 4 seconds.

We had issues where sometimes it doesn't do that automatically, hence the manual Engine On.

Same controls, you have have to bind some additional controls to interact with the cockpit.

The generators are on auto on the new version. You don't need to turn them on. You only need to turn on the batteries.

Do you have CBA loaded and enabled? Have you set the keybind for Cockpit Interaction?

APU is the auxiliary power unit. It's basically just a smaller engine that is only used during startup it's not intended at least to my knowledge to stay on after startup in the f18 nor any other aircraft. The mod seems to sadly turn it off automatically, though I'm not sure if it does this in a real f18.
