Just saying for anyone who is unable to do manual bombing with divebombing, you can use this kind of setup to bomb it WITHOUT DIVE BOMBING. Either lase it or use this chart: @ 400km/h flight speed Drop at 180m to hit a target at 1km Drop at 1200/m to hit a target at 3km Drop at 2900m to hit a target at 5km

You should of covered UAV combat. These UAV's can keep their laser locks on while they change weapons, so you can a target with a missile or GBU bomb easily. People don't usually have competent friends in CAS aircraft to do the bombing for them, you should of covered some more skills to make newer UAV pilots more independent.

It's complicated, but once you understand the few unique mechanics of the UAV its really effective. Their are basically two ways to do it, from the pilots seat or from the gunners seat. If you want to fly the drones approach and use a laser designated target you set yourself you will need to firstly fly towards the target of your choice, then switch into the gunners seat and use the laser designator to highlight a spot of the map. When you switch back to the pilots seat the target will remain locked and the laser will stay still. Now activate manual fire and treat the target as you would any other target if you were flying a CAS mission, select the laser designated target and fire your GBU's. Secondly you can drop bombs from the gunners seat. If you deactivate the drones autopilot (I believe) and simply point at a target and use your laser designator the drone will fly towards the laser with an approach that will let you drop bombs on the selected target. From the gunners position you will need to set a laser and target it with GBU's, when in position drop the bombs. But be aware the drone will often do random things like circle around and re-approach and re-calculate, also often in hilly terrain the laser will fall onto the side of the mountain where the drone will now target and try to approach. That's the basics but the only way to learn properly is to load up the editor and put a few drones in the air.

liam harrison Thanks, later I found a lot of this out after my comment. The only thing I have a problem with is the GBU bombs, you have to fly straight over the target and you only get two shots. I think the best way to do it is just the Drone helo and climb to about 2000-4000 meters with draw distance and visibility that high, hover there or circle and target people from nearly across the map so high they can't see you. The only problem is the autopilot goes bat shit crazy when there is a enemy aircraft in the air, but with 6 AG missiles that's 6 vehicles or more blasted away. Gonna try this online sometime, probably trailerpark with all those dumbies acting stupid, only problem with that server is those people have a rediculous amount of aircraft to blast a drone out the sky. But if you could coordinate 3 drones or do it yourself you'd wreak total havock on the enemy and they wouldn't know it My only problem is my PC is retarded and a microphone doesn't work, otherwise you could coordinate a fire team and use drones to defend...

You basically waste a run when you have to take the time to do it yourself, you will probably overshoot the target, or come too close to aim and bomb it.

hey :) is there a way, to let the AI fly the greyhawk? Exampel: I place an opfor vehicle on the map, the greyhawk should fly in the area of the opfor vehicle and " search and destroy " it. But i got the problem, that the greyhawk only shots one missile, thats nice if the missile is an instant kill, but if the missile doesnt hit the greyhawk doesnt shoot an other missile. The greyhawk only flies over the target, but it doesnt attack it anymore :(

Range2212 that's the vibrations mate, try either getting closer or reducing speed/throttle drastically. Although modern drones usually have a "shake corrector" that adjusts for plane vibrations, arma apparently does not.

@@king.kthebest6158 What do you mean with camera mode? if you mean between piloting and using the turret, scroll, disconnect and reconnect to whatever you desire. If you mean NVGs etc, its N. Zooming is + and - on NUMPAD but I might have them as custom keybinds, don't remember.

While they are at it, could they add a transport drone that's a bit better than the AL-6 pelican? Like jeez some guy goes "hey I need ammo, it's a hot AO" meaning it would be great for a drone, to drop ammo. Then you find out that the drone hardly carries anything. Like honestly those things should at least be able to carry some mortar equipment or a small backpack, something a little more than half a sandwich. It's a drone with 6 rotors that can fly at 500+ feet, you are telling me it can only carry a tiny box of stuff? If they could have some kind of transport drone, that would be great. Even if it's just like a bigger pelican, heck it doesn't even have to be carried as a backpack, just get maybe like a drone with a detachable NATO Ammo Box or something.

the uav on multiplayer is so fking buggy, 50% of the time, if you dont start it up correctly it wil explode in your face. Other then that, it has problems tracking the same spot (that cricle on the point).. Belive me, its not my issues, i talked with the guys on AhoyWorld, they said its game pb.
