We’ve needed this type of experience for a long time. Im so over chasing red nametags and dorritos with a total cluster fuq of a HUD. Im tired of being spotted or wall hacked with special abilities no matter where i am, and im sick of the die spawn loop with nothing of substance, im tired of auto-aim/aim assist…and im tired of ‘scope glint’. This game has none of this and excels because of it. I have no desire to play any other military themed shooter.

I came from HLL, and honestly, reforger is exactly what I've been waiting for. The 1980's equipment is the icing on the cake for me. It's such a perfect setting.

Reforger is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for. I LOVE the 80's era gear. My only complaint is that you can't customize your loadout pre-game. So much time gets wasted at the arsenal.

Totally addicting, There is some stability issues on PS5 after a long game. Around 3+ hours the map goes black, once this happens it's just a matter of time before it crashes. But that hasn't really stopped me from enjoying it.

Its not.just what you see. Arma series has realistic ballistic calculations(not just a simple bullet drop), possibility to mod the entire game, and many other complex calculations, that none AAA games does on its engines. Its not just making a game, proper engine would be required

Your observations of the game are pretty much bang on. I played arma2 and 3 but mostly singleplayer, reforger was a brilliant idea to simplify the Arma series without taking away it's complexities so that the console base can now join Arma. If you ask me it's a perfect plan. You are 100% right about the stability, the game needs further optimisation for stability. Everyone I know across a broad spectrum of hardware has crash issues such as GPU hang. I couldn't even play 10 minutes without getting a GPU hang until I lowered my ram voltage by a few millivolts. Now I get GPU hang once every 2-3 hours, which makes it playable now but these problems certainly need to be addressed. If they can smooth the game out of some of these issues, this is going to be many people's favourite game that I'm sure.

Long time ARMA player. I've been playing with the same friends for around a decade. Reforger is a blast, now. To say it launched with a "pop" is being quite generous. There's a long way to go still. As for Bohemia, I love them more than I hate them. All that to say it makes me so happy seeing other people introduced to this community. I hope you all give this game a shot.

@@TheBanana93 yeah, “physics have been fixed”, but don’t expect a perfect experience. De-sync will f you up as driving uses the “server location” of the vehicle, not the “client location” of the vehicle. You can be speeding down the road, get a ping lag and BANG straight into a tree and everyone dead! 😂…still, it’s 100 times better than Arma 3. It’s actually fun (most of the time!)

Yes. You join a squad and don’t need to follow them. You can wander off. Some people will be a bit anal but this is few and far between. You can play alone if you wanted. It’s not advised because it’s a team game but you can solo if you wanted.

Yes but I'd only do this in 64 v 64 servers. I don't use a microphone a majority of my 21 hours in the game and nobody has gotten upset because there are 63 other people using them. Same goes for going on your own. 63 other people to help in the war effort so you definitely aren't hurting the team going alone.

Something that should be mentioned. EXP does NOT reset if you leave or get kicked from the server, it's only your gear and only if you're too late joining back in. Mods on console are only really possible if you join a server. Some mods you can run like "status qoe" for solo play but most of the time the mods crash the game.

I took a group of mainly xbox players with me to stealth insert into one of the fortified positions and we pulled it off flawlessly. They all showed trigger discipline to not immediately open up for a easy kill until we all had an advantageous position. Props to all those involved 🫡 big things coming for the arma series!!

I've been playing since summer of 2001 (Operation Flashpoint) and I am a huge fan of the OFP/ArmA franchise. Reforger is definitely more accessible but it still manages to keep some of that original feel and milsim love from OFP :)

The framerate is very unstable on ps5 (for pro idk) but i hope it will be more stable in the near future. The game often goes under 40 fps, and it look even worse during big firefights ... other than that the game is very good but i recommend you to wait a bit

Have your own plan people! Don't get lost straight after respawn. Get your own plan working - try to communicate but don't second guess when somebody demands something from you since people can get supper immersed. At that moment you somehow need to push your ego back to win the match. It's got strong social aspect - you can even experiment with crowd psycholgy even If not being a squad leader. You can be a literal hero for new players if you introduce them to Reforger unless they came straight from GTA. It's serious business when you know whats going on.

4:52 if you crash/ disconnect from a server then your rank (xp) does save but it does reset when a game ends Might be a glitch I’m not aware about but I’m not sure on that Oh and arma 4 is coming 2027 it was confirmed a few months back

All I’d hope for is when I play it for the first time is it’s like battlefield in how they start games. But a bit more in depth. For example I wanna be loaded into a map and basically have capture the flag or old territory’s. Idk if it’s like that but I’d hope so the gameplay looks amazing
