Armada by Mantic Games Ep 1 Orcs vs Basileans 100 Points (Learning Game)

Today we're trying a new game. We purchased the starter set for Armada last year and just got around to playing our first game. This game is a collaboration between Mantic Games and Warlord Games. It uses a rules system from Black Seas by Warlord but has numerous special rules that fit the Mantic fantasy world of Pannithor (Kings of War).
This is our very first game so we may get several things wrong. We do these videos for love of the hobby and you can support our efforts with a like on this video.

Thanks! I had a tough time. I washed the parts but the paint didn’t like the resin. Plus I’m not good at white. if the kits were hard plastic or something I would have invested more I think.

Great, yeah we found ourselves in the rulebook a lot but it was quick to pick up once we started getting the hang of it.

@@MiniatureGameMontage Yah the resin isn't great, but I have a good feeling they'll get better. Mantic's plastic and PVC minis for other lines have come leaps and bounds from where they started and are pretty dang good now.

¡WAAAAAGH! Classic Greenskins animosity start and then all those orky dice. Sometimes yah have to suck one game off bad dice to reset your odds for the next game. Super orky in the feel of the battle. Loved it. More.importantly how do you guys feel about it? Or is it too.early to tell? On my part it is no Necromunda/GorkaMorka/Legions but it looked an awful lot like a game I made up, too many years ago) based on 'Regatta' + 'Warhammer Fantasy Battle' to play with my friends. Even sent a proposal in to GW, but that is a take for another time. Cheers Hey, stop knocking your paint jobs. They're respectable game ready minis. Twist multiple games, filming, editing, producing, building n painting terrain n minis, J O B and the absolute prime priority Family. Yah, take the "W". You've more than earned it. Thanks! Yeah the Orcs hitting everything including themselves was classic. I think it's still too early to tell. There's definitely things I like and things I don't. We're going to play through some of the objectives missions and such to see how those work. Thank you for your comments. :)

Quick and easy set of rules just might to look at this one a bit more. Now I can see GW coming back out with their old Man-O-War but given their track record they will more than likely upscale the miniatures again since they do not want anyone who has the old Man-O-War miniatures to be able to use them.

Honestly I would have played more of this. But the ships were resin, super glue wouldn’t stick, paint wouldn’t stick. I even washed them in warm soapy water. It really turned me off. Fun game though I just swore off the models.

That was a cool game. I am a Necromunda, Mordhiem, Legion, Bolt Action kinda gamer, others skirmishy type games as well. As close as I have gotten to a maritime game this far is Blood n Plunder. (A 28mm Pirate Skirmish game.) Again this was cool. It was NO Starfleet Battles (thanks be, pretty sure I am still awaiting an impulse from the last game) It was very light n fun Much like a sorbet as a pallet cleanser. ;) I imagined the Orks riding their prows like Skim Pickens riding a Nuke :) Looking forward to where this goes Excellent vid as always. Thanks it was enjoyable. Very light but you could definitely feel the tactical depth. I’ve skimmed over blood and plunder as well. Just can’t pull the trigger on it right now. Thanks for watching!

Yeah I could tell where a lot of it was Warlord style mechanics. Such as everything hits on 6 and then modify based on X, Y, Z. I really like the wind mechanic of activation and D10s are kind of cool to play with, lol. We had fun.

Thanks for watching! Haven't played since because the models were just a struggle. Resin, thin, rejected primer and paint even after washing. It's a shame because the game felt fun and interesting.

The ships look fine! I plan on doing my Ork Fleet with rattle cans in an attempt to speed things up then go back and drop in the details later!

Nice report keep them up, I got the set I found that they were very fragile all had damage. I miss the white metal Man-O-War ships!

Yeah...unfortunately I had to contact Mantic for some missing pieces but they were really good and quick to get me replacements. The details are very crisp but resin just adds extra layers such as washing, then I still had trouble getting primer to stick. I hope they move more towards plastic if the game works out for them.
