Good classic country. Great steel. Not much info about Shirley? Seems that some singers cut a few good songs for "Starday", but no follow up.

Bruce, Can you tell me when this was recorded. I am making a list of great country music like this year by year. The best country music, like this song, one of the hidden gems, are the songs that never hit the top 40.

Love the steel in here. Anyone know if it was Pete Drake? Kind of sounds like his style to me.

There's such a thing that's called a liars ring. It's that white ring where your wedding ring was before you slipped it into your pocket.

She wrote Cry, Cry, Cry for Connie Smith in 1968. Before that she co-wrote The Other Man with Chuck Wood (my dad) her husband at the time. She still lives in Tennessee. Her son Terry Adams is still in the music industry in Nashville. she has a few more recordings out there under Shelby Singleton.
