Just as Oscar said, "This is some real deep blue hero shit". And Harry's line is remarkable, "The US Government just asked us to save the world, anyone want to say no?" I still have a t-shirt from 1999 that has a picture of the shuttle with the words For All Mankind.

A lot of people might not know but Steve Buscemi was a firefighter in New York City in the 1980’s. When 9-11 happened he went down to his old fire house and volunteered for 5 days working 12 hour shifts in the rubble. He’s rarely talked about it but I thought that was pretty awesome of him to do, not looking for attention or more fame but just went to help out at his old fire engine company.

Fun fact. The song I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith, at first Steven Tyler didn't want to do the song. But then they showed him clip of Liv Tyler, his daughter, saying the line " No Daddy", and he started sobbing and told them ok now I have to do it.

The song, that song Never miss a thing was the hit in 1999. We(the hs seniors) were very emotional but I haven't watch until in 200, the dvd to came out. It was the greatest movie before the millennium had started it. Praise to the all star casts for all the hard works. Btw u gotta watch Aerosmith music video, Never wanna miss a thing and I felt that video was being dedicated to Steve Tyler's beautiful daughter, Liv Tyler.

I bawled the first time I saw this movie. Especially because of the Dad and daughter scene at the end. I lived with my Grandparents at the time and was only able to visit him that night because my Grandma and I had to go pick up my brother and Grandpa from participating in the Tiger Cruise on the Uss Carl Vinson, my dad's Carrier. My dad lived in San Diego because he was stationed at Coronado while we lived in another state. I think it was disappointment that I didn't get to participate in the Tiger Cruise and visit my dad for the week, knowing that we'd be leaving in the morning and that I probably wouldn't see him for another long while unless he was able to take him leave, and the scene being really freaking sad, but once I started I didn't stop for a long time. I still watch this movie when I need a good cry. Surprisingly enough I do actually enjoy this movie in spite of being so deep in my feelings the night I watched in. lol Annoying bit is that the reason I didn't get to go was because I was female and my Dad wasn't certain about accommodations for little girls and my dad was not going to put me into a bunk surrounded by men. Turns out that the female bunk area had plenty of space and I totally could have gone.

Lots of great actors, fun characters, thrilling moments, an interesting premise, just a fun movie. By the way, it came out in 1998. Great reaction as always, keep being the man, Mr. G!!!😁 As ever, I must request that you react to the movie Road to Perdition (2002) starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, and Daniel Craig, excellent film I know you will greatly enjoy. I like the little moments they put in there, like the dog chomping on Godzilla or going to a strip club or the astronomer wanting to name it after his bitch of a wife. I enjoy that kind of flavor added to the story. Contrast it with Deep Impact where everything was very serious. While I enjoyed that movie as well, I wouldn't say any of the characters were memorable in what they did compared to this.

This movie is so delightfully cheesy and awesome at the same time. Action packed. Funny when it needed to be. Dramatic (and a bit wooden) when it needed to be. It has everything. Great movie! Harry was not perfect but he was the definition of honorable. If he said he was gonna do something then by God he would do it. This movie has so many amazing actors, some before they became famous household names. Some parts may have seemed cheesy but the movie delivers. It keeps your attention, gets you in all the feels on several occasions, and although it might not be the fairly tale happy ending we wanted, it was the ending the story needed. The ending we needed. Paraphrasing one of my favorite quotes that reminds me to love and cherish all the times, the feelings, the things... good and bad...... "”Because we do not know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well, and yet everything happens only a certain number of times . How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood that is so deeply a part of your being you can’t even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps, twenty. And yet it all seems limitless.”

For context, scientists have determined that all it would take to destroy all life on Earth permanently is an asteroid at least 60 miles wide. The KT extinction event that resulted in around 70% of the demise of all life on Earth 66 million years ago was debatably caused by an asteroid that was measured at around 6 miles wide.

22:16 Fun fact, the President of the United States in this film is the same one in The Rock. He was POTUS for both Michael Bay films. And because the two movies are confirmed to be in the Bay-verse storyline, he made two decisions that overrided the primary plan which put the main characters at risk.

Absolutely love this movie one of my favorite 90s movies. Watching this makes me sad that Bruce won't be in anymore films though.
