On the Hill that day. Absolutely electric. One of the last few games to be played in front of the old hill 16. I know there was an older one, before my time. Rip roaring game. Tommy Lyon’s went on a media campaign to hype it up and it worked. It got the fair weathers out. Dubs unfortunate in the end but Armaghs win and eventual first all Ireland victory in the final was better for the game, looking back with Hindsight.

@@ba1183 one of the last attended by dubs and full to capacity mainly by dubs. Ironically it was Armagh who beat Dublin in a 2003 qualifier game and ended Dublin’ s interest in that years championship. A game I’m unable to find on KZbin. Stephen Cluxton sent off.

We were on the hill. This was a pulsating game. Whilst busy celebrating the Armagh goal I failed to see big Ciaran Whelan coming through the halfback line. Come to think of it I don’t think anyone saw him. This game went to the wire but that particular Armagh side were well used to close games. There was no panic. This was a great day in Croke Park.
