And i pay £9000 a year so that some **** expand this over a whole semester without making any sence... Why University's doesn't have people who can explain things understandably, and not just read off the slides GJ mate, you are better than some uni professors :)

@armandohasudungan In a clinical setting when mesuring bleeding time you have two options. 1. To put a brace that will deliver 40 mmHg of pressure to the arm above the elbow. then with a sterile needle you give a small picn in an area that does not have a superficial vein. Bleeding time must be < 7min. To be considered normal. If it is longer further testing is indicated. 2. With a sterile needle you give a small pinch to the lobule portion of the auricle bleeding time has to be < 4min in order to be normal. If it is >4 min futher testing is indicated. @armandohu

Great video, very thorough. Just FYI, now this condition can be treated with Apixaban(Eliquis). If you ever think about updating this vid, you could add that to the list of treatments. It works a bit differently than these medication and may need it's own video. thank you for this video👌 😊 I really enjoyed how detailed it was.

Heparin -> activates antithrombin 3 -> inhibit 2 and 10 -> decreased 2 -> decreased 8 -> inhibited intrinsic pathway -> must check aPTT for heparin Warfarin -> decreased 7 -> decreased extrinsic pathway -> check PT or INR for Warfarin

An 87 yr old was hiking 7, 9, and 5 miles a day in Mammoth Mountain and typically had no issues walking 5-10 miles anytime. Then he was rear-ended as he sat at a light, at ~45 MPH by a tester with no skid marks and was knocked out...5 days later he couldn't take 5 steps without passing out and was later diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolisms. Is this possible by this stress, as he was tested for Cancer, Blookages breaking off and his cardiologist said no blockages, all was good with heart and arteries and vessels?

Hospitalized and diagnose with PE on mid August this year and in May had an ankle fracture (lateral mallelous) after bike accident... still I cant do heavy activities without losing my breath..... hope this meds work...its effiing expensive 1/7 of my income...

Hey :) Is rivoroxaban a heparin drug and does it work the same as a heparin drug? I am on twice daily tablets after multiple pulmonary embolisms upper and lower lungs, both sides. I found your lecture excellent and I would like to fit my treatment drugs into my new undertanding. :D Thanks for your time and talent.
