You're absolutely right. It can be hard to pull that trigger when you're under the pressure of a late game protoss army in your face though. Late game lings would've bashed through those side bases and forced Nice to either give up bases or look away for a second to defend it. That opens up the chance to pick off units from the main force without getting feedback landed.

I think nice would not have cared that much, the bases were basically empty at that point so he would only need to defend his production to rebuild the few units he was losing

I feel like the projectiles of spore crawlers should be blue if the drone that 'built' it was carrying minerals. No extra damage or effect, just a different color.

I wonder why a zergling flood wasn't hitting the backlines whenever Armani was hovering at 170 supply with a ton of minerals. Worst case you distract Nice.

It doesn't do anything, that's the problem. Losing empty bases when you have a base isn't scary. Worst case scenario is he recalls and just wipes them out, trading out an outwards base with zero value for killing Armani's units/minerals.

Man skytoss is just brutal. They’ve got three ships that fill a different role and they all shoot both up and down, meanwhile Zerg has only two and they are very limited. I acknowledge the game is well balanced and Zerg lategame is strong, but as someone who likes Zerg AND air I wish they had more options. It’s weird that there are fewer zerg air units in SC2 than brood war.

I'm not much of a SC player but since he had a tonne of minerals and no gas wouldn't he be better served doing a massive zergling hit here and there?, could have forced him to choose to defend or let bases die to force an issue. 20 odd lings can be a bastard to deal with to just ignore when it's running over you.

Could have been worth a shot to maybe force an error, but ultimately lings wouldn't accomplish much there, as the mining bases were heavily fortified and killing empty bases would just be a waste of time.

@@berndarndt9924 but its a distraction. all of nice's attention was on his main army which is micro intensive. if there are zerglings hitting as base he has to look thus the micro intensive army isnt being controlled.

Yea its ridiculous how much you need to kill air toss as zerg. Tempest snipe your vipers. Templars feedback them before they can abduct. My apm is usually 80%-100% higher than toss and i still lose to this crap.

3 oracles are enough to keep an entire army permanently revealed with no counter whatsoever, you can just skip to the end to save you some time that this is factually unwinnable unless the protoss is an idiot

yeah it takes 40 straight minutes of either side to do anything and nothing really changes, it just boils down to who has screwed up at the end I really hope later RTSes (like stormgate) actually fix this kind of issue, lategames like those are just not fun to watch

broodlords should not have killed more than 1 cannon... so exposed... but because protoss for some reason must control all its army in 1 single control group, he cant deal with them with the tempest without his ground army and void rays running out of position to die... because for some strange reason, protoss must always stay in 1 giant death ball and lose... ... such bad control, such a weak take on my strat

ew, USE CONTROL GROUPS NICE... carriers have a different in battle role than tempest, high templar are different, and the rest, voids disruptors, are a waste of supply. tempest should not target the same thing as carrier, or even be positioned the same. just such bad micro. stop. clumping. rewatch the replay where I Pwnt you and study exactly how this trench warfare toss works... void rays are useless too, storms end corruptors fast enough with carriers and spread out tempest volleys
