"Buildings are good to fight from." There's considerable debate about this on the BFC forums. Buildings - especially the 2nd story or higher - seem to be killboxes for your troops under many circumstances. The wooden buildings, in particular, seem to be good only for observation. Putting troops inside of wooden buildings makes them very vulnerable to enemy fire once spotted, and they seem to be spotted quite quickly and easily.

Put your building solders back a bit from the window. I use bazooka guys because they can see but don't fire.

Geoff it's a few years now since you released your first CM tactics video, but they're still the best on KZbin. Any chance you'll produce a tactics video for Eastern Front specifics, or maybe winter tactics one CM Battle of the Bulge (of Final Bitzkrieg) is released? Or maye ooking at the doctrines emploed by the various particiants. Either way, thanks for this great series

Yah its similar but better balanced I'd say and without the annoying issue of an enemy being able to see and kill your entire squad if even one guy is exposed. Combat mission is easily one of my top games of all time. You should play it if you haven't.

@ss11955 just read the descriptions of the campaigns and battles in the game. I haven't played it yet but it's a good bet that the "Panzer Marsch" campaign features lots of armor given its name.

I am sure you can get an equally or more powerful, self-built, computer for less. But I don't have the inclination, time, or expertise to do so. For those who do, I applaud their skill and economy. I will point out that the Alienware machines I have purchased are rock solid in their performance with each component balanced to insure maximum throughput.

I have a great computer: an Alienware ALX58 with Intel i7 CPU, 12 GB of RAM, dual GTX 295 nVidia graphics cards. Though three years old it runs all software wonderfully. I am a huge fan of Alienware.

@ss11955 you're probably playing Road to Montebourg which is an infantry centric campaign.

@heyedmond wego is the only way I and many others play. Unfortunately the game lacks tcp-ip wego like CMx1 games, but other than that it's just as good. Also there is no armor cover arc command, but on the upside there are advantages, for example you can issue cover arcs and area fire orders from multiple waypoints.

How does this game compare to the older CM games? I hear that this one has a real time pausable and the original turn based mode. So which mode is preferable to play the game in? Does the turn based mode feel natural or does it feel just added in to appease the older fans?

Im building this. CPU - i5 sandy bridge OC'd to 3.8 RAM - RipJaw 8GB 1600Mhz Gpu - EVGA GTX670 2GB Cpu - Corsair 650w For $1680NZD.An alienware with similar specs is about $2150 In my country. You have a nice build but you could of saved a load of cash.I guess all that matters is if you're happy with product.
