Armchair General presents Combat Mission Normandy Tactics Episode IV

In this fourth video of the Combat Mission Tactics series, using for the first time combat footage from Combat Mission - Commonwealth Forces, detailed steps are shown on how to set up a German fixed defense against a powerful British force of tanks and infantry. Using terrain analysis, we figure out where the British might attack and then plan a defense to stop them. A comprehensive discussion of the rationale behind the defense is followed by dramatic footage of how defense actually holds up under the British onslaught. Topics covered include obstacles, kill zones and target reference points.

When I first learned of this game. I called it a game. This video makes it a simulation in my mind.

This might be the best of the series thus far, and that's saying something since they're all excellent. I have always had some trouble in discovering where the kill zones are before a fight. Having multiple assets covering a kill zone happened on accident only. This has really helped my 'battle vision' in shaping the battlefield. Placing kill zones by choice as a result of area denial. Also, covering openings in walls and hedges is pure genius, don't know why it never occured to me previous.

Seperation of the infrantry from the armor worked so easy because you played against AI. Its way harder against a sound enemy to the point were it can be impossible.
