Mrs. Mitch and I go on an interesting walk to her old school in Yerevan.
We begin our journey from Orbeli Street, then Baghramyan, taking a backstreet to the American University of Armenia. From there we take a zig-zag route through to the Monument District. This is a very wealthy area, which was once home to many natural areas and green parks.
Mrs. Mitch tells an amusing story from her old school where we end our journey on Azatutyan Avenue. What's the moral of the story? Do as I say, not as I do!🙏

Oh I love Peas and eggs. I'll have to try it Mrs. Mitch style. I like them the way a lady friend in Japan used steam the peas with onions, add a dab of heavy cream with a fried egg on top. In Armenia do you have anything like the Japanese Cream Stew? With all the lovely fresh dairy products there I'd guess you might. I also miss the Aussie delights like Grilled cheese on toast with a dab of Vegemite, lamb w/ mint jelly, and of course the Moreton Bay bugs! You ever pop them on the barbie Mrs. Mitch? Thank you so much for the lovely walking tour, and I hope you can do another one at least. I am impressed what we glimsped today in Yerevan and I pray I can visit Armenia. Also at 30:30 I much enjoined Mrs. Mitch's story of her "hooligan" days, or what I'd call 'Free-Spirited'. God Bless you and the good people of Armenia.

@jackoneil3933...thanks Jack. Regarding the Japanese version of peas and eggs, I don't think we have anything like that here. We'll have to try that...also the Japanese cream stew sounds intriguing. I'll have to get Mrs Mitch to make some of her more traditional Armenian dishes. She's a great cook! Grilled cheese on toast with Vegemite...now you've got us salivating! If you send us the Moreton Bay Bugs, we'll invite you over for a BBQ! Mrs Mitch loves them! We're glad you liked the walking tour. We enjoyed it too, so we plan to film more videos from different districts. At least it doesn't cost us anything to walk and it's good exercise. Yes, Mrs Mitch was, and still is a free spirit...though she's curbed the jumping out of 2nd storey windows and her obsession over Romeo and Juliet😂 God bless you too, Jack🙏

@Grigoryan1989...Thanks for your comment: Progress depends on one's point of view, but I've certainly seen a lot of changes in the last 10 years. There have been positive and negative changes, so let's hope and pray for the betterment of all of Armenia and not put all our focus on Yerevan. The building industry is booming in Yerevan, but I'm worried about the lack of safety regulations...especially regarding the high-rise buildings. Once again, thanks for inspiring us to continue our walking videos. Stay safe and God bless🙏

Any advice on opening a machine shop in Yerevan or vanazor
@ArmenianLifewithMitch
@ArmenianLifewithMitch 2 ай бұрын
@user-qq8wy4lp5b...What sort of machine shop? Are you of Armenian ancestry? These are the first questions to be asked. We need expertise in the regions, so if you're really serious about this, then you should try to connect with someone from Vanadzor. Yerevan is getting too overcrowded and we need this kind of industry in the regions.

Hi Mr Mitch, I'm retired in US. My future plan is Armenia. Let me know how much it is apartments for rent. I'm following you in this page. Thank you very much. God bless your
@ArmenianLifewithMitch
@ArmenianLifewithMitch 2 ай бұрын
@eduardotoursarkissian1552...Oh Eduardo, you've opened up a can of worms now! Apartment prices in Yerevan depend on so many variables. First, you must set a budget, and second, you need to choose an area. I would go to list.am and select your search criteria under all districts of Yerevan (presuming you want to live in Yerevan). What size apartment, what condition, and so on. This will at least give you an idea of monthly rentals. You could also join a few FaceBook groups: Secret Yerevan and Foreigners and Expats in Armenia. Sometimes they advertise apartments for rent. I hope that helps you. Kind regards, Mitch

@Kitty-ig4yh...Oh Kitty, that would be a nice idea if we were 20 years younger. It takes a lot of time and effort to produce our simple videos, so we couldn't contemplate another channel. Maybe we can do a video on some Armenian artists in the future, including Mrs. Mitch's work🙏

Hi Mitch, do you think that English teachers and classes are in need in the provinces? Thank you for the video!
@ArmenianLifewithMitch
@ArmenianLifewithMitch Ай бұрын
@lucasbridges8082... Yes, absolutely! The problem is that there isn't the focus on English as there should be. For example, children are learning German in the public schools. Of course, there's nothing wrong with learning German, but it's not a universal language like English. Most English teachers cannot converse in English, so children from the regions get a poor English education. Have you heard of Teach for Armenia? They do a good job in the regional public schools.
@lucasbridges8082
@lucasbridges8082 Ай бұрын
@@ArmenianLifewithMitch Thank you for the insight, Mitch. I have looked into Teach for Armenia but they require fluent Armenian to be eligible, so I am afraid I´m not eligible, unfortunately.
@ArmenianLifewithMitch
@ArmenianLifewithMitch Ай бұрын
@@lucasbridges8082 ... you can always have private "Conversational English" classes in your home. Village people can't afford to pay too much. Maybe 10,000 AMD per month for a block of lessons...and that would be the maximum amount. So, if you had 10 students, that would give you 100,000 AMD per month. You would be living very frugally of course on that, unless you have some sort of online business.
