We have the Russians - specifically the Soviets - to blame for that. They made the deal with the Kemalists to give us the awful borders Armenia currently has, through the Treaties of Moscow and Kars - they absorbed Armenia into the USSR and effectively banned open conversations about the Genocide, at least until Tsitsernakaberd was built - and the Iron Curtain hindered the diaspora's ability to communicate with and support Armenia. And that's before we even approach the subjects of Nakhijevan and Artsakh. Unfortunately, Armenia cannot trust anyone in its neighborhood.
