The propshaft sliding joints can cause vibration and grinding sound on overrun. They could be seized.

Very similar test to Spain, but they do a lot more verification of parts, if they think a piece on the vehicle is not standard, then ask for homologation papers etc.

Hi mate, by the look of it your front prop yokes are 45 degrees out from one another, can you confirm? Pull the splines end out and put it straight. Ive had Two Defenders end up with weird ass cyclic resonating vibrations from that mistake alone.

Front prop is meant to be out of phase on a Defender/disco/RRC on standard springs. Believe it’s due to both joints not being in an equal and opposite angle to cancel out like they are on a series as both the gearbox and diff pinion point upwards, it’s a cheaper solution than using a double cardan joint like they did on the stage 1 V8 or disco 2. Lifted suspension: all bets are off as that cocks up everything without further mods which is not usually delt with to the standard LR engineers did.

yo do know you can snap a prop by yanking the handbrake on in an old defender not so funny and even in the UK the MOT testers know that

yea not ideal, but there's about 10 Defenders in the whole country.... so when in Rome...!
