Fantastic story and great vehicle. One day our ROWs will have to meet!

For all those reasons, that is why I purchased a Defender Wolf 90, Hard Top. It is ex-UK army with the 300TDi and the Remus upgrade. Only had 97000 Km when purchased and passed every MOT with no observations since. Simple, easy to fix robust vehicle.

I’ve got a 98 300tdi ex military, spent it’s life in the Falklands…. Half submerged in the sea looking at the rot on it, it snapped in two loading it on the trailer. 😄

We’ve got a ex para Land Rover from the Falklands.. it’s a 2000 td5 and we use it to pull ships ropes and wires so it’s had a hard bloody life.. let’s just say it’s had some welding on it! lol. In the 8 years we’ve owned it it’s been faultless!

Would be nice to put side by side an 2006/2007 English Row Spec and a "Brazilian Spec" 300TDI from December of 2005... maybe one day!

Great purchase, hope to get a nose around it at Gaydon maybe in 2025.

Good find. That chassis is excellent. How do you identify the order of build from the chassis number? I have an early 200. 👍

are these Row Spec 300tdi engines made in Brazil/Argentina?

How much weight does the armour plating add and will you remove all of it, some of it or not at all to keep it original?
@johncunningham48203 ай бұрын
Why would you REMOVE some of the Vehicles HISTORY from it ? All the NUMBERS matching means it IS original .
@ShaneB6663 ай бұрын
@@johncunningham4820it was just a question but it was only fitted 4 years ago so its not original.
@johncunningham48203 ай бұрын
@@ShaneB666 . No , but as mentioned it IS part of the Vehicles History . Its " Patina " if you will.......

Get some Gwyn Lewis mud shields to help keep your new defender in the great condition it is now 🇬🇧

Have a Alloy front axle&track rod guard on my Snatch and a Steel one on my 90 Winterised. See my videos on here for some pics. Believe the Alloy is a Mantec one, brackets are steel and plate is alloy. On the 90 the plate and brackets are steel, believe thats a Southdown Engineering type ? Chassis is superb on that, I think I would be getting the Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 on the inside and Dynax UB on the outside. Though it seems a shame to cover up that original factory paint!

Will you respray it in a 1960’s LR Series 2 colour?!? If you can, having the Steel Trim parts Galvanized is the right look too. 😎

Great video! I have a 2007 130 DC 300tdi LHD myself, I'd love to know more about its age in relation to others in the UK. How can I contact you?

I see it’s a former HALO Trust demoing ambulance. Should be in good condition.

I have a question: What kind of fuel do you run your 300tdi on? These engines weren't built to run on ULSD. In the UK, your diesel contains 15ppm sulphur. I ran my tdi on 50ppm sulphur diesel sold here in South Africa, and maybe a year after switching over from 500ppm to 50ppm, my diesel pump and injectors packed up.... Now I add two-stroke to my tank each time I fill up.

Are there more 110 Defenders in the fleet where you bought this from? Do you think it would be possible to buy another one? I`m living in Germany, so a LHD car would fit right good…

Can you register something like this in Germany?

I'm currently Resto-Modding a Series 3 . 30 years older than this Defender . I notice you still didn't plug up the Chassis Holes .
@gshort47073 ай бұрын
Given the condensation I get on the inside of my Land Rover, I would have thought plugging the chassis holes would be a bad idea.
@johncunningham48203 ай бұрын
@@gshort4707 The condensation INSIDE the Vehicle is atmospheric moisture and Your Breath . Plugging up the Majority of the Holes in the Chassis is exclude MUD from the cavities , which will hold Moisture WAY longer . Pick a Hot day to plug them up and there isn't must " Steam " in there in the first place .

What's hiding under the poorly painted patches on the doors, also what's the legally of having the ambulance lettering there if it's not registered as such, are they just stickers?
