The Armenonville, named after the Armenonville Pavilion (which still exists) in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris, was a famous cabaret club in Buenos Aires that was popular during the first quarter of the C20th. Opening in 1911 it played host to many famous tango artists of the time, including, here, Juan Maglio who, in 1912, wrote and named this tango in its honour.
