Since there is only a cloth dry filter rather than a pleated one, is there a problem with it getting clogged quickly and needing to be changed often?

Is there a black piece of plastic inside the vacuum port on your armor all ? Direction say insert the large end of the hose in the vacuum for it but I can’t because there’s a black piece of plastic I don’t know if mine was a return and somethings broken off in there.?
