My choice for addressing my tire and wheels once every 1.5-2 months: CarPro ReTyre for cleaning the tire; CarPro Darkside for the tire dressing; Koch-chemie Magic Wheel Cleaner. Normal weekly wash nothing but P&S Brake Buster. Never have I had to spend the amount of time you did on my tires. I bet you spend well over an hours address all 4 tire given the deep cleaning you did. Hope it all works out amigo.

@@golf007sd2 in truth just under an hour, getting the first round of ghost off took way longer than my usual process of course. a lot of people have recommended retyre and kcx mwc but that dark fury is a beast (first time using it) darkside is my favorite and for a regular tire dressing adams graphene tire dressing gets it done for me every time. like i said in the video that undressed was probably still lingering and causing all the problems but live and learn, record it and post it on youtube 😜

I have seen this happen and have experienced with tire coatings. There could be a couple things that attribute to this. One thing is if the tires are new then they tend to have that mold wax release which takes more effort to remove it besides a tire cleaner such Stoners Tarminator and the mold wax release tends to keep coming out for a few weeks. For this it is recommended from experience to just clean the tires on a weekly basis for 3-4 weeks and do not dress them until that time. Secondly if the tires were dressed recently and often, it does have the ability to penetrate into the tire. So even though we think it is clean there is still tire dressing that leaches out to the surface after driving. Stoners Tarminator can help and it maybe a good idea to use a panel wipe as a last resort for that final wipe. This can be the downside to going to a tire coating and Ghost looks like it behaves like a tire coating. I have not used it just yet so I can't clearly say that. But McKee's Tire Coating and Tuf Shine Tire Coating are two examples of acrylic tire coatings that go from blue to clear. I suspect one of these two happened to you. #pinchechupacabra

@@MikeGDetailing oh yeah the tires have been cleaned and dressed on a regular basis, in this situation i don’t believe the tires are brand brand new, although it’s a 2023 we bought it used and those should be the tires that came on it originally. i definitely learned an important lesson in that i should have a dedicated tire cleaner in my arsenal that’s for sure. dark fury was great although going forward i’ll be cautious with it. the eulex wipe down seems to do the trick but i’ll only be using that as a final prep for stronger tire sealants and not regular dressings. besides koch chemie’s eulex i’ll definitely look into that tarminator, thanks for the heads up you tha man! 😎🐿️💨

I had the exact same thing happen to my tires when I applied Optimum Tire Sealant (with the same blue hue in their own formula at the time, which makes me think the "blue hue" in the formula is some sort of chemical ingredient that gives the longer durability). It may have been residual product left behind as you stated because the same exact thing happened to me and I swore I would never use the crappy product again! Well, it wasn't a crappy product, but probably my own inefficiency in prepping the tire thoroughly. It might have had something going on on the tire rubber itself??? Not really sure, but it's very interesting that the same thing (and almost the exact same look) with that flaking and rust colored look you had here in your pictures. I do know that it took me a lot of work to correct the problem! A LOT. I essentially had to attempt to strip off the product, which was a nightmare. Whenever using a longer term tire rubber sealant, the only advice I can give anyone reading this or looking at this video, is before applying these long term tire dressing products is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN the tire rubber the best you can do. If you THINK the tire rubber is clean, it's probably not, make sure you clean it again, three to four more times. It's a pain in the butt and it certainly takes longer to prep the tires than when using normal tire dressings (which are far more forgiving to layering or having old residue product still on the tire) but it's the only way you will get a nice uniform appearance and will allow the product to work as the makers intended it to look on the tire surface. I know people say to look for "white foam" or white bubbles as an indication as the tire rubber surface as being clean, but that isn't always a good indication either. I also used Odorless Mineral Spirits purchased at Lowes, and I recommend its use to anyone applying a new type dressing for the first time, USE MINERAL SPIRITS after the fourth or fifth time of using a high alkaline cleaning chemical or specific tire prep product. CLEAN, CLEAN, and CLEAN AGAIN! That's really the only advice I would give someone based on my own experience with these higher longevity tire dressings. Mineral Spirits are a good option to remove any traces of previous cleaning products. If you haven't tried odorless mineral spirits as your final wipedown on the tires, give it a shot, it works pretty well and I have never had a problem with it damaging the tires at all. One company that makes a really good tire cleaner (heavy duty one) is TUF SHINE TIRE CLEANER. It's a tire cleaner and prep made by TUF SHINE, who were one of the first companies to release one of the longer durability tire dressings many years ago. It's quite a bit stronger than most tire cleaners you can buy at Wal Mart or the big box and Auto parts stores. Autogeek sells it and I am sure it's available at other sites as well. I had pretty good luck with it. There are many other good tire rubber cleaners out there now days also as many more have been released since. Re-Tyre is another one from CarPro that's pretty good. Superclean is good for a cheap price, but just use it neat (Straight, with no dilution) for the best results for a good clean. I currently use DARKSIDE as my dressing and I have had no problems whatsoever with Darkside, even layering it after several wash sessions to "refresh" the appearance. The PREP is not a problem at all with Darkside either, nothing like it was when I used the Optimum Tire Sealant (with the blue hue). Just use RE-TYRE or a the TUF SHINE tire cleaner I mentioned a couple times on the tire, rinse well, and you will probably have a great user experience and a new favorite tire dressing that lasts and lasts compared to normal water based dressings.

Sometimes, tires are just not right. I initially was going to put Ghost on a car but after several rounds of strong tire cleaner, browning was still coming out heavy. No matter what I did, it never got clean so I said screw it, put on Tire+ and finished out the job. For those tires, something was off. Tires are complex and go through a lot of physical and chemical processes to get manufactured. Sometimes this stuff just happens. Great video nonetheless! DJ and Bradley are awesome guys.

A hack Instsrted doing lately on my truck tire is to use a dry magic eraser spray product into magic eraser and wipe down tire dry then start your normal tire cleaning process. For me brake buster Isn’t strong enough. I clean my truck weekly and BB takes more time do to more passes. Magic eraser is abrasive enough and material soaks up gunk at the same time. I have nobby Offroad AT tires so it’s a chore to clean and prep.

@@davidnuxoll7074 yeah big tires are a pain, but i’ve always had good luck with brake buster. dwell time is the secret with that one, i’ll apply and scrub it down on the rubber and let it dwell on the tire while i clean the rim by the time i’m done there’s no need for a second pass fo sho! … this one was me using undressed and i’m certain i didn’t neutralize and or rinse it off completely thus causing problems with the ghost 😜

@FrankoDetails
@FrankoDetails 3 ай бұрын
the crazy thing is that for the 6 hours that it sat and cured they looked amazing. the browning from the dust had to have come from the rust that settles on the brake rotor, after driving to and from work we believe that’s what settled on the tires, that did rinse off but after the rinse we could see that the ghost didn’t adhere properly, thus the re-do 😜 none of the products performed poorly i just have to change the order that i use them 🤘🏽🐿️💨
