I gotta say, I found your channel when I was in my deepest of pits regarding depression. Times were bad, I found your content was the only thing at the time that I would get up for. I loved that you never have a plan other than get the car running and drive it home. A concept simple, but it works. I am now getting better, and I thank you for helping me (even though you didn't know that you was), keep up the good work and I can't wait for what's next!

Got taught a trick by an old timer to get the inner bearing and seal out quick and it doesn't destroy the seal or bearing. Pop the cap, take the nut off, remover the outer bearing, put the nut back on, pull out a little so the rotor can flop and give it a yank. Should be out no problem.

Hey Derek! As a Hamiltonian in Hamilton Ontario, the ONLY appropriate thing to do here is when you get her altogether, bring the Pantera back up here to Toronto Motor Sports Park, which is right near Hamilton and Dunnville, and take her down the drag strip and on the road coarse to celebrate her Canadian roots. It would make for an "MOSES SANDLES!" show buddy! It would be excellent content to get some of the locals out, and get lots of great footage of our best Race Park too!

Derek, while it's nice to hear you thank us for the support, we can return so many thanks back your way, my friend. The laughs you've provided while still showing us sooo many tips, tricks and vast general knowledge regarding these old cars is worth way more than just thanks in return. Your genuine passion and character beyond reproach is inspirational. Thank YOU!

I can’t ever imagine someone having anything derogatory to say towards you Derek. I love what you do and you inspired me to start doing it again. I set out to do exactly what you do back in 2011 but affordability got me as it always gets most of us! I recently decided to give up again, just figured what is the point, it won’t work and people will think I am just being a copy cat, instead of seeing that like you I am just doing what I love. I almost died early Tuesday morning as I fell into a 4 foot trench after tripping over a tree root while on the job. I could have broke my neck, could have drowned. I am so grateful I had good enough luck that I was able to sit in front of my tv today and watch another one of your videos. I think if I was ever going to get an import I would definitely say the Pantera would be the way to go. I will never let what others think stop me and I never plan to give up or even think about giving up ever again! Thanks for another awesome video and for continuing to inspire us!

Derek, what an episode! I'm 64, and in 1971, I was 11 years old. I had this wall chart, and you bought stickers to scratch on of all sorts of exotic cars. The De Tomaso Pantera was the most exotic sounding of all and my favourite. To see that you have one fills me with joy. I'm in the UK and so some of the things like the bearings and bits you have to take out to get to something are very familiar to a young gofor. Me and my friend Steven hung around a garage in the 60s and 70s. Our small hands were put to good use in tight spots. He went on to have his own garage. Man, your hands are mangled! You have my fantasy car. I'm astonished that it is yours too. Couldn't happen to a better person. Do you fit in it?! Special car for Jessica. 😊. Regards, Stephen.

You caught my eye with the Pantera and then my ears perked up when you said Scarborough. Back around 1986, I was not only living in Scarborough, but I worked in a body shop that brought in some high end cars. One of them was a yellow Pantera that was in for a color change to red. So, it's possible that your car was in that shop that I was in. I didn't work on it, mind you, but pretty cool if it's the same one. Love your channel.

Derek, I want to personally thank you for bringing clean and fun entertaining into our lives. I can watch your show with my family and not worry about F-bombs or sexual references being stuck in for no reason. You are proof that a truly funny personality doesn't need to be anything other than PG (maybe G in your case) rated. Thank you and your family for putting yourself through so much stress and hard work for our weekly entertainment. You (and the Roadkill guys) have changed the old car culture into something obtainable and fun for everyone. Watching your show is the most entertaining videos I watch by far. Keep up the great work!

Derek, I can not begin to thank you enough for all the joy and excitement you have brought to my daughters and I. You and your videos are an inspiration to my daughters and I to get out there and save classic cars. This video holds a special place for me, because I used to work in restoration and I worked on a Pantera that crossed the Mecum Auction block so I wanted to pass along the company we used for Pantera parts. Pantera Performance Center Inc in Castle Rock, CO. They may be a useful resource for you. Good luck with this beautiful car.

I'd never heard of one of these cars before... I honestly can't believe it's a product of the early 70's. The beefy body, the aerodynamics, the sound of the engine, the body lines... it honestly looks like it came out of the 90's. Just a beautiful car! I'm ashamed that I'd never heard of the car before, but I'm happy as can be that Derek introduced me to such a badass ride. I can't wait to see it restored to its full glory. Holy Grail car as far as I'm concerned.

I used to work on one of these (GTS version, even rarer) as an 19 year old apprentice in New Zealand. My boss came to me one day and said "This thing is not running right, it struggles to get over 100 mph". It was running on 7. Long story short, after the usual checks, I pulled the valve covers and found a push rod had gone up through a rocker. Got a set of pushrods and rockers and put it back together. I had to test drive it off course, the only car I have ever had at 160 mph and it scared the cr@p outa me. Hell of a thrill too though for a 19 year old. Boss told me after it was the best it had ever run.
