Really want Franky to win, but considering how hard it is to permanently kill a Gem, it may be a bit of an uphill battle for the Straw Hats’ shipwright. But I’d love to see what crazy things they’d come up with mid-fight.

Going by sheer stats, Peridot is Mountain and MFTL+ with Island level durability, compared to Franky's City level attack potency and durability and Rela (With one Speed of Light attack). I know that battles come down to more than just the stats, but Peridot should win more times than not due to the sheer disparity in speed and durability between her and Franky.

@MP Her speed should still allow her to keep up with Franky at the very least, after taking a further look and her Bubbles, EMP and Ferrokinesis should allow her to get an edge despite the strength and durability disadvantage she has.

I believe Gems durability vary between the roles they are made for. Not as inconsistent as one may think. Of course Jasper survived an explosion the size of Beach City. She's made for being a soldier and combat. Someone like Pearl would be dead. Peridot probably has building level durability. Her gem should be as durable as peridot in real life.

@@chaisonpeyton By my knowledge…. Both were introduce in the series as Antagonists as Franky fought Luffy and the Strawhats and Peridot fought Steven and the Crystal Gems. Both utilize Technology and gears that truly make them formidable opponents. Franky is a cyborg and uses many inventions like General Franky and Peridot uses machines and her Peribots (I think that’s what they are called) Later in the series both joined the main characters and became good people. Franky helped the Strawhats to save Robin from Enies Lobby, defying the World Government and Peridot came to an understand with the Crystal Gems after seeing Earth a lot more and even straight up back talking and insulting Yellow Diamond in the process. Also both are weird, but in a good way!

I used to want to see Peridot fight Kled from League of Legends. Idk why exactly I wanted that matchup, it was years ago. Franky probably wins if he is able to get up close, idk I never got that far into One Piece but I do remember Peridot not being super durable. She may have super durability compared to humans but she is very reliant on her tech in order to overcome fights and isn't anywhere near close to characters like Jasper, Garnet, or probably even Amethyst.

Steven Universe is many things, but One Piece matchups is not something I imagined it to be. Either way that song's pretty nice. It has at first "glance" at "soft" and "comedic" tone with how some saxophone (or an instrument similar to it, I suck at recognizing and naming them) and synth parts (IE: 1:41-2:08) are added but then you get some pretty serious--sounding parts (IE: 2:08-2:22/2:22-3:05) to elevate the song into more than just a comedic matchup in a relatively subtle but still noticeable way. Definitely a pretty unique song and one that's far from bad. Good job with it.

This feels.. incredibly One sided. I mean I love peridot and Franky but this is not a fair match up for Peridot. Best one I can think of is Zim from Invader Zim cause peridot isn’t a fighter and her gem form doesn’t take much to pop like when Garnet squeezed her too hard, her limb enhancers aren’t enough to close the obvious strength Gap and her Metalkenisis isn’t strong enough to just rag doll Franky and his Iron Pirate. She wasn’t given much time as a fighter and that’s a big problem as Franky is a seasoned fighter like all of the strawhats who has fought plenty of bizarre opponents so peridot wouldn’t have much in terms of unpredictability either. Plus most of the fighting centered around her was played mostly for laughs as her most notable achievement in combat is proofing Corrupted Jasper.

I'm assuming the connection is that the both of them are inventors that create things, like Peridot creating robots and drones while Franky creates a mech, as well as them both serving a more supporting technical role in their group of friends. That being said, this IS a very uneven matchup and would likely result in a stomp considering some of Franky's feats in the series.

Since it's a One Piece track, I was wondering. Who is the fan preferred match up for Luffy? I can't really think of any that wouldn't be washouts or just not make sense. Mr Fantastic is just another stretchy person, that's all they have in common. Plastic Man would be a better thematic one personality wise, but I really don't want to see another 'DC stomps Anime' episode. There's also the possibility that they could use recent developments to justify doing another Popeye vs Saitama, which is another thing I don't want.
