The Argyros is my favorite next in terms of both gameplay and looks. It's very easy for "heavy" mech designs to look obese as Gundam often shows us, but the Argyros makes it work by having a "layered armor" look. I'm not one for extreme speed so the Argyros's high defenses are a favorite of mine as well.

Neat, i should really look into gundam more instead of only the sd games. I think rayleonard might have had a hand behind that layer armoured look. They always did make sleek looking nexts.

Argyros' design practically screams the Virtue/Seravee line with its combination of heavy armor and massive energy weapons.

It’s interesting to me that Akvavit made lightweight legs, GAE made Quad legs, and yet when they merged they made Heavy Legs.

It is. Maybe that was the middle ground between these two when it came to it that or some of the rayleonard engineers had a say as well.

I think it fits in with the two companies' themes. GAE, as part of GA, had heavy parts with high ballistic defense. Akvavit had high energy defense and had the best (Hideo) Kojima research. Zone of the Armored Gear Stranding.

While I dont think Neo Nidus is too much of a problem alone, the hard part is dealing with the prototype NEXT that shows up afterwards...Neo Nidus usually drained like half my ammo...

Kojima weapons hit hard, but given that they lose all the charging to did if you lose your primal armour they are not weapons that I have ever used. The back of that suit always looked cool though.

Global Armament: "Bigger mean better." TORUS: "You bet." (Proceed to develop a frame that thicker than bowl of an oatmeal) The main benefit of using Argyros is just the fact it work well with Assault Armor strategy with how tanky this thing can be, even then they freaking nerfed it into the ground (you always be in my heart Regulation 1.0; back then it take shorter time to recharge the entire PA). Because, I think that's how the frame intended to work with, equipped alongside LETHALDOSE and P-MARROW. It's never intended be piloted like standard NEXT, but toward less risky AA strategy... which is why it has low aerial capability, BUT it enough for a single AA before retreating and wait until recharged. One one side, you have Totient with his extremely risky suicide Assault Armor strategy that utilize both his NEXT's speed and devastating AA that can one- or two-shot most NEXT (in 1.0), and on the other side you have Neo Nidus with his thick ass NEXT that equipped with LETHALDOSE for focused long-ranged AA which mean he need to take defensive stance. My other theory is that this frame has "Special Ability" in the same vain as Exceed Orbit in the form of Sol Dios Orbit, but scrapped it.

I would agree with your theory here, as I suspect that the sphere the front of this next would have been a very small sol dios. Unless they wanted a large one on the back.

@@armoredcorelore The only reason I can think of why it is scrapped (if it ever planned first) is because... Core doesn't provide Assault Armor, it's OB. Hey man, I can help you in the making of these lore video (as long it's ACfA), two minds can yield a better information as I played waaaay too much and experimenting with a lot of build.

@@tonyfranksland428 Defensive strategy usually revolve around having mid-to-heavy frame and maintain certain distance from your enemy ─ basically, patience game. One example is Mid-Biped Grenade Launcher, with this build your opponent doesn't want to go too far since they will have terrible accuracy for their weapon (unless Sniper), and they don't want to go close either because Grenade Launcher deal a lot of damage. Keeping them at certain distance is the key of this build, while also not being trigger happy with how few Grenade Launcher ammo count has. In conclusion, This build heavily rely on your finger to shot when you know it will hit at mid distance, while also received little damage because their accuracy is lower. The main problem of this build will be the fact it use Grenade Launcher and require a lot of patience, against experienced pilot, you will have hard time because they can easily closing in to pressure you more than you can pressure them. Mid-Biped or Heavy-Biped are the usual choice for this kind of build, with Grenade Launcher as both Arms Weapon and/pr Shoulder Weapon (if possible), otherwise anything that can deal as much damage as possible in lower shot count. If you're experience enough, Rocket or Large Missile + Missile Support Extension can be a great way to force them back, making it the perfect equilibrium.

I personally love rocking this NEXT with a spread bazooka and a plasma cannon, stagger the foe with the spread zooka then let ‘em eat plasma. Never bothered with the Assault Armor options.

This NEXT is absolutely bonkers, and I wish I had the patience to jock it. I do like the notion of running ballistics on there to save the frame's energy and KP for that AA. That AA boosting shoulder weapon makes this frame into a sledgehammer, but I didn't have the sense that I now do, and just loaded it down with KP weapons

I admit i think this is the first next where i have used assault armour so its a new one for me. Nothing wrong with a kp weapons on this next either especially since torus slapped some kojima arms on it and called it a variant.

@@armoredcorelore exactly lol. I prefer to fight fast, so AA strikes me as largely counter-intuitive both coming and going, but that acacia (I think it was- it's been years) turning the AA into a kojima cannon is pretty glorious, ramifications notwithstanding 😂

Completed my first playthrough using this. it was big and slow but I could soak up a lot of damage, it helped me get through the campaign. after i had spent many hour with the game, i grew to prefer fast agile AC's and found heavy ones like this too restrictive. but i will always love this AC, it held my hand while i was getting use to AC4A.

Speaking of mixed build. I remember a AC i built in last raven with the selena heavy energy EO paired with a pixie 3 and bazooka. I think in general if you plan on having energy weapon on back, let the arm at least have some sort of Rifle/Assault Rifle to keep pressure on while recharging energy, i can easily see how a dual canopus with back mounted autocannon can work. Or back mount lasers with dual 051 rifle. Also adding any other head to the argyros convert a NEXT model to a dad bod version with the argyros body. I did it to white glint once...

Good question, from what i know i have always unlocked these parts after two full runs of the game. Still doing research at the moment about what unlocks and such as some say its about which corporation you choose depends on unlock.

@@armoredcorelore good. I'm having a really hard time trying to keep up with some of the information presented. I also don't know what Primal Armor is. Is that AP? Was the AP meter your "armor points?" Was your health separate? I understood the energy meter and that's about it besides shooty. I never got far (it was on a friend's Xbox 360). Despite reading the manual, I could not understand what it was saying, and I've forgotten whatever I got out of it years ago.

Like what is the significance of kinetic or ballistic weapons/damage vs energy? I mean, I know the visual and flavor differences, but why does what do more damage to Primal Armor (whatever it is and whatever it does). I'm still not even sure if the Dismantlement War happened during or before AC4.

@@adamofblastworks1517 Well to be to the point ballistic type weapons are weaker against primal armorer. While energy weapons do more better as they can penetrate it. Best example i can give you to look up is a Dilatant as this is how primal armorer acts. Still it boils down to When a solid object hits PA, the particles of the shield suddenly group up into a solid mass of particles making it slow down the energy of the incoming ballistic because these partials are now very tightly packed together making it hard for another solid object to break them apart. Think about a pickaxe and a rock and how sometimes the tool will just bounce off when hit. Meanwhile energy weapons have no real mass behind them, their partials are free to move about. This allows them to bypass PA as the armours particles do not feel any kinetic energy being forced on them and as such the PA particles are more like the partials of a liquid. Best example i can think of here is water and sunshine, the water allow the sunlight to pass through it. As i said i am not expert on the subject, but i hope this will give a rough idea of what we understand about primal armour. And of course i am sure others will chip in too to help. Oh and the dismantlement war happened before ac4. It was the war where the corporations basically took down all the worlds governments and military. After which the world had a peace period known as the Pax Economica, where the corporations rebuilt the world in thier own vison which eventually would led to the Lynx War.
