It is pretty funny how consistently she's portrayed in fanart. Like the fanartists just had a silent agreement or something. Like, going with how *green* the rest of her is, she's drawn as this really cute young woman with green hair, eyes that are some shade of green, and a mostly green pilot suit that more often than not accentuates her figure.

I wish she involved more of the story and they show their faces. It could've boosted the franchise, considering how much May was loved. During the kojima arms forts, I unleashed my grenade launchers on All threats. Just to protect miss sunshine.

She is very much liked miss greenfield, however i think the faceless pilots is a good thing as i am sure you and i have two different ideas what May looks like so it allows different experiences and the game is very much focused on the armored core and the corporations so added faces could take away from that. Mind you as a fan of Shamir RaviRavi i would love to see she what she looks like, but not knowing is always fun as i can build my own idea of what she looks like. Also keep on protect my fellow lynx, may that green smile brighten up your day.

@@armoredcorelore I also find shamir an interesting character too, I have 2 theories why she's so trigger happy. Slow exposure of kojima or she's slowly losing her sanity through all the killing and her way of coping is to go along with the flow. Also I added Mays logo on my AC, De Hy no sora (a mixture of Spanish and Japanese translating; From skies of fire.)

I'm learning more and more that AC4A had some questionable translation work done to it by Ubisoft, like how they made out the Anatolia merc to be a "she" in the Ordered match description, when they're clearly male in both voice and by other characters referring to "him".

Okay, let's get the obvious out of the way first, before I go deep into speculation. She's a fan favorite because of her positive interactions, combined with a voice actress who's very pleasant on the ears. Question, from all the rest of From Software's games, which character is most like her? Hustler One? Kingseeker Frampt? Cypress? Hmm.. Sunshine motif, engages in Merry Consorting? ..That's right! Solaire of Astora, the Sunbro himself! There to aid you in some of the trickiest missions of the game, no less; always offering words of support. Here's some speculation: She and Takafumi Arisawa try to use consort roles to develop friendly relations with the player. Since GA is operating indepently of the League, they're very eager to keep relations with mercenary Lynx as high as they can, or even outright recruit them. This is in anticipation of a war against the League - or Rosenthal/Omer in particular - similar to the fight against Rayleonard. I think this war would have erupted if Orca didn't act when they did. (Incidentally, Orca is widely believed to have been backed/created as an Omer plot, and one of their actions was to occupy GA's old corporate HQ - Big Box.) Anyhow, May is friendly toward potentially GA-friendly pilots. She's not particularly talented; if she's part of the New Sunshine project, her AMS aptitude is probably low. I think getting close to the player - just like she did the many of us IRL - was her job. She's a honeypot. Change my mind. To support that persuasion idea, les takka look at ona the other consorts that you can choose - THE CEO OF A FRICKEN CORPORATION! I think he DROPS EVERYTHING to PUT HIS NECK ON THE LINE in NEXT VS NEXT COMBAT - AND - against the SOL DIOS LAND CRAB because GA considered it VERY important to try to get you on their side. If you look at his dialogue, it's very similar to May Greenfield's. Richland: "I'll take them head on." and "Amazing that you can withstand such fearsome enemies" Defeat Redrum: "I'll take point" and "These undisciplined Lynx" Unidentified AF: "you have guts", and "we won't lose. It's common sense." The key difference in the quality of their dialogue is the angle of attack - May Greenfield's trying to ingratiate/flatter/seduce the player, while Takifumi Arisawa's trying to impress/inspire awe in the player. This whole 'recruit the player' theme is also present in mission briefings "blah blah blah speaks highly of you" or "this mission could open a lot of doors for you". I think it's obvious to most, but I don't recall reading any discussion on that part of the narrative. I was reviewing info for this comment, and I see there are only 30 Nexts at the beginning of For Answer, 10 of whom are nominally independent. By comparison, GA and Interior have the most Lynx, with 3 each - though GA has close ties to a fourth, Dan Moro. In AC4, a number of corporations had 6 Lynx in their employ. So, two points to be made: 1 - despite Collard's 'collar' on Lynx, the quantity of independent Lynx means any military decision must take them into account, 2 - corporations were probably sinking a lot of resources into courting independent Lynx and scouting for new talent. The other explanation for all the comments about 'increasing ties to our corporation' in the mission briefings is that they're all BS, which also fits into the existing narrative. I suspect there's a scrapped version of the storyline where Omer openly attack other corporations, and there's a new corporate war - GA/BFF and Interior vs. Omer/Rosental and Algebra (IIRC, Algebra were Omer's puppets as of AC:4A). Your decisions in the game decide which corporation you side with, and there are a lot more endings, similar to Last Raven. The idea was probably discarded because it was too similar to AC4's story. Gawd though, Motherwill vs. Answerer, Land Crabs vs. Eclipses. What a sight that would have been. Further unrelated weirdness: developing on that corporate war thing, Line Ark's still in an odd spot. Omer gave them the Vanguard Overboost to fight Motherwill, and White Glint uses a few Omer parts, but Omer launches the biggest attacks against Line Ark's interests. Line Ark itself is protected by GA Normals, and White Glint's weapons are all GA/BFF. I suspect factions in both corporations were supporting Line Ark on and off, in order to use Line Ark to wage a proxy war on each other. This is similar to how Struggle and Imminent Storm were funded by Chrome and Murakumo, respectively (I think), in the first AC game.
