Kira is not in a much better state, but he has no choice but to proceed alone to Depth 3 in order to deactivate the laser barrier blocking their progress to the lower uncharted zones. Strike Freedom vs Unicorn, even though the Freedom only received superficial damages during this mission, the fact that a GUNDAM appeared within the Watchpoint has raised several concerning red flags, like most would say. Kira and the others doubt that will be last time they will see a similiar unit like theirs.

Other than a NEXT with Energy and/or Kojima weaponry, nothing other than another advanced late-U.C. Era Gundam can take on a 2nd-4th C.E. Era Gundam.

@ Only the V2 could truly challenge late CE ace rigs. I've seen cases made for Uso Ewin being a far more skilled pilot than Kira Yamato overall (believable if you've seen enough Victory), but otherwise that's it. And if you see anyone tell you that G-Saviour is more performant than any of those, just laugh it off. Technology regressed by that point in the movie so it's hard to buy into those rigs being better. Either they're memesters or they're hard-coping, no in-between.

Kira's heart has got to be in his stomach upon seeing that silhouette. All it leaves him is more questions with vanishingly little time to answer them. But the most urgent question has got to be: "was it always there even before we got sent here, or did the forces who want us to die here plant the Unicorn here knowing full well we'd show up?" This can't be a coincidence. Someone must have gone deep enough to know Kira's prior work history with RX-0 and its pilot, who considers Kira a trusted ally (evidence: /watch?v=xGs1KoCRSMI). The other, tougher question is "what else is there?" No doubt Kira would immediately start data-mining once they get back and are well-rested, because if THAT is here, then it's not hard to imagine others being here as well. Again, nothing about this discovery can be attributed to Lady Luck smiling slyly upon our homesick quartet.

Also, I'm starting to notice a trend where anything starring X20A Strike Freedom can reliably generate 4-figure views after 24 to 72 hours but the rest aren't. Weird, but I guess Kira's simply that big a celebrity that the algorithm feeds it more.

I noticed that too. In fact that's one of the reason why my previous Ace Combat 7 playlist got so many views compared to almost every other. The Strike Freedom or any iteration of the Freedom is THAT popular and the algorithm automatically promotes any videos the moment you put those words.
