Those temperatures are impressive!!! Might be the coolest running CMP 100-210 cards I have seen.

Oh please don't look at that, they were just getting warmed up. With the one fan going, they're sitting at an avg of 53'ish. I'll be able to provide some solid before/after data on the 8 sitting on the other 100-210 rig :D

I'd use thin piece of aluminum for the construction of that shroud. That tape is going to collect lint on the sticky side. OK for short term but not long term.

That's a pro tip, I'll work that in for the next batch!

For the fan filters use superglue with magnets to hold them in place plus makes them use to clean and put back on.

Nice! I've been looking to incorporate more magnets & that would give me an excuse to use the magnetic stipe tape thingy.

Hey Dan! Can't wait to hear if you're gonna add these to your Vault of Chaos.

good on ya for trying lol that poor card was hating life with the amount of lint clogging its arteries

Instead of thermal paste use PTM7950 it will probably last the life of the card and you wont have to reapply every time you clean out the heatsinks. PTM7950 is very good and wont need to be replaced unless you tear it up completely.

Do you know if APT2560 thermal pads are similar to PTM7950? I picked up some .5mm to see if anything will happen instead of using paste but I'm just not quite there yet.

Cool. Just one thing. I've heard vacuum cleaners create static on the components, and might damage them once you turn everything on. I would advise maybe change to a blower thingy. Or maybe just leave it plugged in after you mount everything, with the PSU on the 'off' switch... To drain off all the static before you turn the PC on

That's a good tip for sure! I didn't know about the staticisity increase but it's definitely a good practice to flip off the power supply or unplug before grinding computer parts together :D

Butyl rubber man, screw the tape unless its a type of krylon tape which doesnt seem nescessary in this kind of problem, but a butyl rubber sheet or 10 sheet you would only need the 3mm kind which is easy to find on amazon would not only dempen the sound it would also help hold the material onto the cards without the high heat causing the tape to shrink. And the hepa filter could have easily been cut to put over the intake area with some heavy duty scissors and more of that aluminum tape to hold it down as an actual layer of protection bc that chair aint it. not to say anything negative thats just my opinion on something like this type of build, the rubber had a coating on one side that keeps it formed to the shape you applied it to

Butyl... a new material has entered the basement! Whoa that stuff looks heavy duty. Thanks so much for the tips, I'll try that with next batch of cards! Good call on the HEPA. Applied a layer between the metal grates & the big loose filter. I really appreciate the tips!
