Great to see that "school is in session" and the maestro is back! Hope you had a restful summer, and am so glad to see your video pop up once again. Well said that the Armory Show is like an all-you-can-eat buffet, and how to tackle the sense of overwhelm. And the very ending was the cherry on top - Michael Berryhill! Thanks James, thanks Kate.

Rothenberg passed in 2020, aged 75 yrs. She was a force for female artists, thanks James, luv your videos.

Thanks James and Kate. Lots of color at this show. Michael Berryhill really stood out in his use of color. More painterly and layered with his own approach.

I possess an early Milton Resnick painting titled "Sunflowers" (Van Gogh-style) that I thought was 'chunky', but its chunkiness is nothing compared to some of these new works. Wow! Thank you for the video,...very interesting.

A few good bits, I liked the paintings at the very beginning, Berryhill, Jeau , Monica, and Staver and I liked the show at Shrine a lot but overall I was really disappointed by the quality.

Hey @vin4win443, I wouldn't get to worked up about the death of painting. Keep in mind that this is an "art fair" and, as I stated in the descripting, The Armory Show has morphed into a commercial shopping fest for upscale clients. That being said, to rent a booth in a fair like this is very expensive, so these dealers have to show what they know they can sell (or they go broke). Anytime you get two hundred galleries showing stuff there'll be a few interesting things that emerge. Bad Assed painting is still happening out there, but don't expect to find it in a commercial fair. JK

@@jameskalm James, it's not just art-it's everything. Music, architecture, our entire culture is in decline.

So you would like to regulate what art should be?

Samo samo... never has art reached the zenith of banality, stupidity, fatuous, sophomoric trivial irrelevance as seen with the display of this crap.
