Wow! If you realized they were together since the start. In the episode where they show the party before startibg to work "the welcome party" Izzie and Alex start talking, unfortunately Alex was a complete jerk an told her that she should be a ped or nurse instead of surgeon, then the Dr. Model episode even that was awful for Izzie they tried to show us that Alex liked Izzie. Then all the relationship stuff then Denny came to the show then he died and Alex still showed feelings for her. It was so sad they got divorced after the beautiful wedding but after 10 years Alex still loves Izzie! THEY'RE ENDGAME they have kids! And it's such a beautiful ending for this couple.

they were a perfect match. the slowburn hate to love development.. the chemistry.. the vulnerability.. amazing acting. this relationship had so much depth. i loved their back and forth banter with each other and they went through so many obstacles before finally getting together and being serious. we had to wait 5 seasons just for an i love you and they deserved so much better. jo is a cute girl but the chemistry is barely there and that relationship is underdeveloped. izzex forever.

You do realize that Merlex have a brother/sister type of relationship right? Of course you can ship them but they will most likely never happen because writers and actors are strictly against them as a couple. I mean everyone has different taste in ships but people romanticizing Merlex makes me personally nauseous as well because they are the most platonic relationship I've ever seen on the show and one of those most platonic ones on TV. People are desperate to read more into it just because Meredith lost Derek but that doesn't mean she has any romantic interest in Alex or vice versa, and I would personally not want him to be the person who Meredith will never love as much as she loved Derek but that's just my opinion. This video is nice, so nothing against that, I just got weirded out reading the description because it's kind of common knowledge in the Grey's fandom to not romanticize Merlex because actors keep vehemently saying in interviews that they don't want them to ever become a couple because their relationship is too siblingy and would be too weird. But to each their own I guess, I personally love Alex with Jo, I also liked him with Izzie and everyone interprets things differently, but Merlex is such a huge no-go for me and a lot of other people because their sibling relationship has been established for so long.

I know that they'll never happen, but I can't help who I ship. And tbh I've never been a huge fan of Merder (of course I liked them and they were cute and stuff). I started to ship Merlex back in season 1, pretty much in the first moment they had when Alex said she was hot. And then when their friendship began I was so excited for that and I shipped them even harder. I shipped them way earlier than when their real platonic friendship began and that just never went away. I looove them as best friends and if it just stays that way then I'm happy. I don't need them to be endgame to be happy or anything. But I do love the thought of them together and I always loved the idea of them :) I shipped Izzex a lot as well, just to make that clear. Izzex was one of my OTPs on the show! I never quite loved Jolex, they're okay now (I kinda got used to them) but for me noone will ever compare to Izzie (or Meredith) :)
