+TheCobra I know muscle doesn't equal strength but Devon's "limited" amount of muscle compared to these monsters is so much more efficient and strengthened it's insane. I also wonder if it's more to do with the way he trains (why he isn't a mass monster) or if it's because of the substances he takes vs people like dennis. I also wonder if it's to do with muscle fibre type or something like that. Since there's two types of hypertrophy if I'm not mistaken.

Current Devon is really impressive but when I see matches like these and know that they were in the same timeline as Richard Lupkes vs Denis Cyplenkov it just sounds and looks insane. Crazy strength Devon had and I'm a bit sad that I got into armwrestling so late. Watching this as it happened must have been amazing

At that time Devon was almost invincible, denis got to his absolute peak around 2018 when he was weighing around 153 kgs. On the other hand Devon had left elbow surgery and wasn't completely trained for the match. But in that era, denis wouldn't have a chance against Devon both left and right. Devon was toying with legends like pushkar, brzenk, lupkes both left and right at around this time.

This Devon Larratt, in 2011 beats Denis Cyplenkov in a RIGHT hand supermatch without a doubt in my mind. Lupkes gave Cyplenkov hell in 2011, he had to resort to his bone lock in a kings move to stop him, and to this day Cyplenkov says that he has never felt a stronger hook than Rich. Devon toyed with Richard in 2011 here.

Denis has kidney's issues now unfortunately. Devon is at good arm wrestling and is certainly strong. He has much more technique than the 99 percentile. I think he is the Royce's Gracie of arm wrestling the way he is able to stun and make his opponent panic. Next time I wrestle with arms I will consider more of a Ju jujitsu approach vs trying to pin.

Larratt never trained “bodybuilding” only armwrestling. I doubt he has ever worked out his triceps. So working out routine has also a direct impact at looks , (besides peds that both take)

Im sure we will see better armwrestlers in the future. Anyway, in 2008 John was still dominating, he was in a good moment, and Devon won their match easy. Easier than he did later in other years. Those 4-5 years of dominance was the best for Devon by far. The best point about John is how he was the best for all those years... That will be very dificult to see again.

Left handed match, Dennis likes to prepare for his opponents at least 4-6 months out (solid gear cycle of growth + off cycle prior to a match) and Devon for once didn't adapt to or wear out his opponent. Devon clearly learned from the match when he adjusted against both Wagner and Dave the next year. A shame he didn't get the chance to beat Michael Todd too.
